    Army Thread Tuesday 8th November

    :hallo: Army

Thank feck. We've finally grazed our way through all the leftovers from Sunday. And that was after sending people home with containers of food. Except for the generous slice of baked cheesecake that has my name on it I'm saving that for a bit later.

      Lovely piccies, Dark Orchid One

When we take Jasmine for her walk, we pass a number of houses with dogs. It's interesting how differently they react.

Black Bess has her favourites, don't mention the chocolate Lab as she comes over all girlie. But when she sees Harry, the dog from 2 doors up, she goes ballistic and to be quite honest a bit frightening.

It is indeed. Not far to go now only about another 2 inches and I can get that skirt zipped up without walking like Quasimodo in it.

Has Mr. JC slimmed down a lot as well?

And Black Bess? My guess is that she's had less table scraps

Black Bess is positively svelte at the moment.

Mr JC's loosing a bit but TBH he doesn't need to loose a lot. At 229lbs (103kgs) it's about right for his height.

We're fairly disciplined with Jasmine. Only problem is, she HATES dog food. No matter which brand. We've tried Eukanuba, Science Diet, Royal CAnin, you name it. It has to have a little something saucy over the top.

Might be a bit posh for her, try some of the cheap supermarket stuff.

My Aunt used to have a fox terrier who never ate dog food she just ate what the rest of them were having and lived to a ripe old age of 15.

                      Yooooooooooo hoooooooooooo Zens.

The vet was rather vehement about her diet, though.

What does Black Bess eat? Because she's clearly in tip-top condition.

Do you buy the dog food at the vets, perchance?

Black Bess just gets Tesco Beef and Vegetable dried dog food (it's not too high in protein)that I soak in a bit of water and once or twice a week a tin of sardines in sunflower oil.

Oh and a handful of cornflakes in the morning and she gets fed twice a day once at lunch time and once in the evening.

                              Cornflakes??? :H:H:H

I'll buy a small packet of the supermarket stuff and see if she likes it. The vet does sell the "fancy" stuff, but we don't buy it there. We go to one of the pet stores, where it's quite a bit cheaper. The flea treatments as well.

We used to get the posh stuff but luckily my bezzie mates married to our vet and we just asked him to recommend some cheap stuff as we weren't going to pay an arm and a leg to send him on another fancy holiday.

Bess gets very disappointed when it Weetabix.
