    Army Thread Tuesday 8th November

Alrighty, JC - I'm going to take a nice hot shower and head to bed. I'm a bit wrecked after today.

I'll see you on the morrow :l

      Evening!

Ah, I see we're back to our beloved pets. Well Poppy is a fussy bugger and she'll only eat Iams or tuna in brine. It has to be brine, she won't touch it if it's sunflower oil. My old Holly, on the other hand, was a feline rubbish bin. It would be easier to list what she wouldn't eat, which was basically fruit. She would eat anything from extreme chilli heat wave Doritos to mashed potato, tomato soup, brocolli, you name it.

I have managed 2 days so far because I am a determined little cow who for some odd reason likes a challenge.....I wear crocs in the summer too - pink ones. And in 45C heat, your feet sweat kinda slide around in them if you get my drift. Flip-flops are much cooler.

You don't look like a cow in your pictures. Actually I'd say you look more like a swan with a few mauve head feathers and some "wing jewelry".

Aamazing gig, came home and booked tickets to the next tour straight away so I'm off again in June, a quick gig between Download festival and Sonisphere festival - why not? xDOh Inchy - great that you had such a smashing time and good news on the festivals next year. So nice to have something to look forward to, isn't it.

Waggy, so sorry for your losses. It's just so sad to lose a friend and even worse when a couple go within a short time of each other. So difficult for their families and friends. Sending you...:l:l

Stirly - those pictures look like where I grew up in Southern California (Palos Verdes) - we had olives, oranges, etc. on our property. Similar climates maybe. Beautiful.

JC aren't babies just yummy? It is always so exciting to welcome a little one into the world.

Anyway, hope everyone is well. Talk soon X X O O
I'm still amazed, even after all these years, at seeing some of the fruit trees and such that grow here. Coming from a much colder climate, and from many years ago, I hadn't ever eaten a fresh apricot, never mind picking it off the tree. There is nothing like the smell of grated lemon rind from a lemon that actually ripened on the tree. Grapes straight off the vine, slightly warm from the morning sun and a little sour and sweet at the same time. A freshly-picked fig, fully ripened by the hot August sun that fills your mouth with a taste unlike any other. Palm trees and evergreen trees growing side by side. Fruit trees that I didn't even know the names of - pomegranate and quince. Kiwi fruit that grows on a vine, not a tree. It's just amazing and I am truly blessed to live in this beautiful country.

            Hello Army.
Stirly--lovely pics but how do you resist "shopping" on your walks??
Hiya RC. I think I answered your question in the above comment. Mind you I did pick a mandarin orange off a tree just up the street a couple of years ago. The rind was such a beautiful rich orange colour that I just couldn't resist it. Peeled it and popped a few sections into my mouth with great expectations of eating something incredibly delicious. It was so sour/bitter that even though I spit it out immediately, it took about 3 hours for my tongue and taste buds to get anywhere back to normal. So now I'm very careful about what I "shop" for on my walks.

            Evening all,

I was on the lovely island of Aegina in 1983, perhaps our ferries passed in the night KT.
Seriously, you should exchange details of your visits to Greece. You may have actually run into each other. How neat would that be?

But when she sees Harry, the dog from 2 doors up, she goes ballistic and to be quite honest a bit frightening.Well Freddie goes over and greets the younger dog if she's by herself. If she and her mother are both down at the gate, he usually just pees across the road from them. Such a romantic dogger he is.

Just back from the dreaded supermarket and I am, again, gobsmacked at the bloody price of things. (

Lovely pics Stirly. I was in Greece too but don't ask me where. I'd have to look at a map. Somewhere where big yachts can anchor or dock. It got to be a bit of a blur sometimes, especially with a glass in my hand all the time.
Too bad Zennie-butt about not remembering where you've visited but then we've all been there, done that. It's what we do and what we remember from now on that counts. Good to see you back and kicking.

Congrats JC! You get more and more beautimous! I am jealous. I need to lose some pounds...I am just too damn tired to exercise...although I know exercise will give me energy. God's little joke on stressed-out working moms. The 1 1/2 hour commute (one way), 50 hour work week, the big old house to clean, the three kids in three different schools, singing in church, blah blah blah...makes that big fat bowl of pasta comfort food sound mighty good...lol!
