    Never quit trying

Jason Vale says to keep on drinking while you're reading, so you didn't fail in that respect! I didn't think I'd be ready to stop drinking while reading the book, but when I got close to the end I was done with it. You just need to find what works for you. Congrats on keeping up the battle.

      Never quit trying

Windy - Sorry I didn't make it the 100 days with you. I must admit the Beast voice in my head is definitely much weaker - eventhough I listen to the little Bas&*st!rd the other night. It's a slow battle but I think I am gaining.
Meech, You owe me no apology at all. Just keep fighting and don't give up. Give it another try when you are ready, and whatever you do to beat that voice, I will support you.

      Take care and good luck.

        Never quit trying

Hello Meech, Fellow Canadian here. Glad you're getting back on the saddle again. Mind if I join you? I was over-confident and got blind-sided by my blase attitude. The one thing that is wonderful about this site is all the encouragement we get from the rest of the gang each time we come back with our tail between our legs.

Jason Vale, Alan Carr, Roberta Jewell and all the wise people on this site can help us understand exactly what we're dealing with but only WE as individuals can actually stop drinking.

Let's give it another go. My short-term goal is Christmas. I am committed and have discovered some fantastic herbal teas that are really keeping my and my kettle busy and satisfied. No excuses. Tea is even good for us.

A nice reward might be in order for early in the New Year when (almost said if) I reach my goal. Hmmm...

I do this for my children, my grandchildren, my health, my peace of mind, and mostly for the opportunity to learn to live with my true, unfiltered, clear-headed, vulnerable self.

          Never quit trying

          Hi Meech!

Welcome back, it's good to see you again. You're here and you're trying again, that's all that matters. I wish I had a dollar for every time I had to start day 1 again, my money troubles would be over (maybe a little overexaggerated, but not much!)

Keep yourself busy, fed, thirst quenched and stay close to us here. And just remember that a craving doesn't last as long as a hangover!

            Never quit trying

K9 - I love what you said. A craving never lasts as long as a hangover. I am going to say that the next time the cravings hit. And I know they will!

Thank you again for all your posts! I feel so much support this is wonderful.

I have been making frothy steamed milk drinks at night for myself and the kids and we love them. Great on those cold winter nights! I just made a Robius (spelling) African mist with a bit of vanilla syrup and steamed low-fat milk (I have a frother on my expresso maker so it's super yummmy). It's caffiene free so great for night time.

It's such a contrast to beer and kills the craving. Plus there something about sharing a drink with the kids that we all REWARD ourselves with at the end of the day.

I often use beer as a reward/relaxation at the end of the day excuse. Well I can still do it just with my steamer!!

NELZ - I LOVE YOUR STAMP of approval. And if it's cheesy that's even better because that kinda suits me.

            Thanks everyone! :l:l

Tipp - Let's definitely give this another go. Until Christmas sounds great and hopefully beyond. And especially focus on today with no poison!

I have a bit of an easy day at home so I'm going to take advantage of some "me" time and read some more of the Jason Vale book. I'm about half way through.
