      Hello again Troopers.
KTAB;1208782 wrote: Oh no, bit late now and dont want to sound like a know all but always have computers plugged into a surge adaptor. Get one for your lappy too.

Just finkin maybe Jut is a mate of Jims and they had a late night.:H KTAB - that cracked me up.

Have a surge adaptor that we bought from Mr. Stirly's cousin. Have four of them actually - PC, refrigerator, A/C and TV. And the PC was turned off so perhaps it's just a coincidence that last night it worked and today it doesn't. I'm not much into electronics (well, okay, not at all, actually) but on thinking it over, I'm wondering - if the PC was turned off, then how could a power surge fry it?

Murmuration on VimeoI saw something like that this past spring on my morning walk with my dogger. It was just fascinating and I stood and watched for about 5 minutes til they flew off. What was amazing was how quickly they all changed direction at the same time. How did each individual bird know where the leader was going to go? And it looked to me like they changed leaders now and then. It was like there were three or four leaders and they were taking turns which way to go. It was quite amazing and they were going so fast!!

Wish I had access to really fresh fish like that stirly. I've got my green with envy face on again.

Shame about your PC. It's a bit late to say this, but it's best to disconnect all PC related equipment when the mains power starts playing up or if there are electrical storms in the vicinity. Will you get your son to have a look at it or take it straight to the shop for repair?

Edit: just seen ktab's advice, which is better than mine.Reccie - living on the sea has some definite advantages - quick access to beaches and fresh fish being just two of them. We have an outstanding seafood taverna here that is right on the beach. Their deep fried calamari are to die for as are their red mullets and grilled fish such as Pandora fish and sheepshead fish. So is this what you look like?

As for the PC - I'll have to take it to older son to fix. The thing that's got me a tad worried is if I've lost some of my files and especially my pictures. I made a back up CD of my photos a couple of years ago but hadn't updated it. Anyway, if they're gone, they're gone. The most important ones are pictures of weddings and baptisms and such and both sons and friends have pics that they can send me.

Would die without mine:upset: Love sea bream, may get a bit today, fish is usually straight in off the boats on Tuesday:yay:Mollers, lucky it's not the lappy since I need that for work. It's my PC - regular desk-top, tower and such model. Don't know. It was fine last night but wouldn't turn on today.

Been reading back and apart from Zenners toof all seems fine and dandy--apart from Stirlys power outage.

A bit hotter today so sitting in the shade drinkin ice cold orange juice.

Been for a run, a swim and a long laze by the pool. This could be heaven.
Not could be, Mrs. A - prolly is...

                    Hiya Oney :l

For how long do you still have to go to SW, JC?

I'm taking a few deep breaths for just about the 1st time tonight. The cubs have finally gone to bed. The eldest has a mate sleeping over (his mother is in Jo'burg - she's a single mom). That means they've been a bit boisterous.

The fact that the students next door are making a bit of a racket isn't helping my mood, though

Not as much as before, but there are specific times of year that it gets bad. Like now, with end of year exams. Supplementary exams start later this week. It's no wonder they're still here, then - party animals are bound to struggle academically.
