i will do this with you. I have 6 months of sobriety with a slip and have struggled. It's hard, I know how hard it is. I want to be sober and happy and I know I can do it but I need help too. You can pm me if you want. But I'm here for you.Every day is a day to start over and remember that I am powerless over my addiction. I will no longer give the BEAST any power over me - he can go straight to hell.

I am six month af and trust me, you can do it Tired and Universal. Just take Al off the menu permanently and learn from your slips and work to not do it again.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

Hey Tired and Universal
I know exactly how you feel. The voice of despair
in your head that tells you stopping is not possible.
It's a scary thought.
But you can do it. It is hard but so worth it.
AA was not my thing either and even that worried
me! Though I knew people who quit without it I
felt that it was my "fault" that I didn't care for it.
Just because our culture pushes it as the only
game on town doesn't make it so. For some
it's great, but not everyone, for various reasons.
This place has been great for me along with the
Kick the Drink book.
Whatever tools you use I wish you well. As the days
add up it gets better and being AF is a buzz all its
own. Reality is not so bad.

We can all do this - it's just called perserverence and attitude. Only 15% is putting the plug in the jug; the other 85% is changing our attitudes and behaviors. That is the hard part. But we can do it if all we stick together.Every day is a day to start over and remember that I am powerless over my addiction. I will no longer give the BEAST any power over me - he can go straight to hell.

tired of this - i hear you - I also didn't like the idea of AA, although they do great work and are indeed some peoples 'way out'. I am not religeous and didn't like the 'stigma' attached to it.
Sitting in a room full of down and outs and sharing doesn't seem very appealing, lol (I KNOW thats not what its about!)
MWOF is a great source of support, could you make an appointment to visit your doctor? To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wildflower.
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.
