    Another reason to stop drinking

My husband is a Firefighter/EMT and is on shift today. He called me tonight and told me about a call they got today. A woman driving alone ran in a ditch and flipped her car. When they got to the scene they immediately smelled alcohol. She had a Bacardi cap in her lap but they didn't locate the bottle. She is in detox now and will go to jail. This is a scary situation and she is pretty lucky no one else was involved. Just wanted to mention it. This will be on my mind for quite some time.

    Another reason to stop drinking

Although I haven't driven drunk, I have let drunk people take me home in the past, it was just as bad. This shows why we shouldn't drink and drive (shouldn't drink period).
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

          Thanks MM

Good reminder! That's exactly the kind of disaster
I was headed for. SO happy to be off that train
          before it jumps the tracks.
Halloween 2010 I left a bar drunk of course,
Hit a curb, gashed a tire. Had to leave it overnight
flat. The guy at the tire place was mystified about
how the 4 inch gash got there. But really I was too.
          Another close call.
          Thanks

I have driven drunk and have not been stopped, or thankfully hurt myself or others.

Scary how 'this' action is not the bottom for some of us and so very sad the consequences can be.

Im not bragging by any wild stretch of the imagination, BUT its a MIRACLE that I have never been pulled over for drinking/driving.

And yes that is a horrible thing, I am so thankful, I never hurt anyone, I dont know if I could ever forgive myself. It is nice driving now, and not checkin the rearview in panic for every car behind me.

              Very sobering post
