yeah, I totally agree Anon... also my partner pointed out this morning that I actually am NOT a patient of his and this was more of a couple of friends shooting the breeze... He maybe wasn't being responsible but he was here for social reasons and not a house call. If anything today I'm just humbled by how sensitive I can get in recovery. That I am still recovering and that a slip is only a sip away.... no madder how much time I've logged AF.

When we are in the company of others, it is easy to make an excuse as to why we are not drinking, but why not just come out with the truth as you are doing ? It makes so much more sense. In this world, people seem to think we are social outcasts if we don't drink AL, yet they pat you on the back if you stop smoking.
Great to hear that you have abstained for so long. Good job done.
