Underoos and Revered International Guests - December 2011

Saph you're boys are amazing unique individuals with values that YOU have given them. I think it would be hard for them not to see their dad for what he is. You mustn't take on this sadness or sense of loss for something that wasnt given to them in the first place. Celebrate the people they are like you always do. :h

Have been "clearing" the locusts books all morning...ended up packing them all away again and will move with them I think. There are so many and they are all good friends so it will have to be done slowly...I was going to take them to the book exchange for credits but think I will wait till the new year and donate them somewhere that cares.

        Arvo all,

Saph - to me, for a bloke who's got squillions, he seems like a major emotional tightwad . The loss is all his. Don't be sad about what should've/could've/might've been. You have raised four perfect individuals largely on your own. Of that you can be very, very proud.

Saucy - are you terribly excited? I know I would be. When will you actually move in?

The plan is settle on the 21st - which happens to be our wedding anniversary - what a great present! then rip up carpet in the 3 beds, paint all through and fence so dfer stays put. We've planned Christmas day around it and I think Mr Happs is camping over there, blow up mattress, mini fridge and coffee machine...very sad arent we?? so as we paint each room we intend to move all furniture in except the mattresses. Each trip over to be a moving trip. Excited?? NAH! Ecstatic?? you bet! We built our first house when we were 20 and have been used to doing "stuff" Havent had a place thats "ours" for six years....

            Deep breath...

Happy - is this your forever house? I am still dreaming of the day we get ours.

We bought this place last year.......it was never meant to be forever but I can't wait to leave it. We had a bad start with it.....the seller didn't think to mention that the mortgage over it was almost $100k more than the price we were buying it for. The buyers of our house were suing us (allowed in WA) because settlement was delayed. Turns out the guy is going bankrupt and trying to sell everything so after 2 weeks we were allowed to settle by the banks. And we were not allowed to walk away from the sale because we had to give him 28 days to find a bank to cover the $100k.

And as soon as we moved in the catalogue of problems started despite having it professionally inspected. And the home invasion and another break-in. Prior to this time I was successfully AF and then I started drinking again and am still struggling to return to my AF time. So after 2 years AF I have been drinking again for 18 months......long overdue to get myself sorted out.

Dont say Forever house anymore Ella. Have had a couple in our time. Lets just say our lurve nest for our 50's - even though I'm not quite there yet! Its a 1950's weatherboard anyway so if you see me prancing around in the big skirts and ponytail with an Elvis lookalike dont talk about me too much. Sounds like you've had a bad run with the home purchase process so far, state laws vary so much too.

                        hello everyone.
glad to see all are ok .....saphy, hug to you friend.

nothing really interesting to say atm.
nothing really intersting happening, come to think of it.

ella, i went & saw a friend's thermomix yesty & thought it was awesome, but i shudder at the price tag.
made lovely lemonade, apparently makes great sauces, & obviously great fudge thus would love that recipe too if you can share....

Beags....it took we a while to accept the price tag. But with a half finished kitchen and a gastop that doesn't really work it was worth it. I make a lot of bread dough in mine.

Cookies and Cream Fudge - with pics - 2nd version - A Thermomix Forum sharing recipes, ideas and questions.

This is my favourite recipe for fudge, it is so easy to make. I don't know how hard it would be to convert. I think you cook the ingredients in a glass bowl over boiling water.

Happy - I love weatherboards, our last one was 100 years old. I really miss the character, especially living in this ugly square box. I love the 50s too, my wedding dress was straight out of the 50s. We have a 50s scooter and lots of memorbilia linked to it.

So, no dry rot, woodworm or termites then?

May I borrow Downtown after you? Is that OK Missy?

Got yer recipe book did ya?

Now what exactly is this Thermomix thingy? I looked at the home page but it didn't actually tell me what it is or what it does. Will it end up taking up a heap of precious benchtop space?
