Underoos and Revered International Guests - December 2011

Apparently all family members have crisii-d themselves out.
We did that at Thanksgiving. We're so-o-o dramatic. Smaller fam dinner on Christmas day, hosted by sister who's an alcoholic but controls it around parental units--sometimes. She can't pay her bills, but buys very expensive AL. She's good girl, though, and I love her.

    G-man,

What do I rooly, rooly want to do? I want to be a curator in a museum (history), I want to be a painter, I want to be a back-up singer in a band. That's what I really want to do. What I'm qualified to do is be a librarian, but would like a simple clerk's job in our local one--no pressure running the biz. Not hiring due to economic constraints.

I'm a firm believer in "something will come along."

Hope I'm welcome to post here, never know these days, but I wanted to thank you crazies for ALWAYS providing a great read, and wish you all the happiest of sober holidays. You are wonderfully funny and honest people, and I've always felt a kinship with you and your country, and your love and pride of it.
Juja, go for it. Volunteer at a library, become indispensible and they'll hire you. And create, whatever your art form is. It gives me more freedom and happiness than almost anything, and it REALLY helps our soul. Ask G-man, his music is an essential part of him. So again, Happy Holidays to you all.

ruby, of course you're welcome to post here - i don't think anyone is NOT!
it is lovely to have people drop in to say hi.
best of Christmas wishes to you & your family.
Juja, that's a great suggestion to volunteer anyways, just to get a well-qualified foot in the door, so to speak.
I just wish everyone lived near ME so we could ALL drop in,say hi,never get bored, & be around continuously for each other....like Survivor but without the mind games & evil strategies...
i'll look for a suitable island that i can buy & we can set up our own commune....coooool.

        :welcome:

I wasn't familiar with that phrase, so I googled it. Thought you'd slip one in on us, didn't you, G-man? What are you ROOLY up to, you stud-muffin?!? :bigwink

I guess none of the other chickies had heard it either, since no one commented, and it would, uh, you know, have a whole lot to do with us.

on an above-the-naval front, i am relishing in the best coffee machine purchase!
a de longhi nespresso pixie. just whack in a pod, press button, separate milk creamer to cream up the cow's juice, & whammo, a bloody good coffee.
we are screaming through the milk though, as i love a warmy at nights....

having just finished my 2nd strong one (coffee), i now feel the energy to vaccuum the living room.

                i shall return.

Just got back. Will have to catch up tomorrow.
Just a reminder Messiah is on in an hour (8pm) on Classic FM in a city near you.

Will dash make gravlax for Christmas Day, listen to Messiah, go beddy by and catch up on last 3 days tomorrow, and by the way got a leach between my toes this arvo. Am now using white vinegar to zap them as I no longer smoke.

Thank you Reggie!!! Nice to meet you!!! Thanks that you rescued me!!!!

Yes, here is only 8 p.m. but dinner is finished (my routine was different - i always started my dinner at 8), i even did dishes..my BF' s mum is fine, her husband is drunk but noramally he' s very quiet and go early to sleep, kid had a bath and soon will finish running around and screaming...i'm just afraid of my BF - he drunk a lot today and he likes to argue when he' s drunk..when i'm drunk i just don' t care..
I live in a surbub otherwise i would like to go just walk in the city..after rain everything is fresh..
Yes, i like your words about self-confidence.. i had this morning my confidence when my BF appologized for yestarday (he was drunk too).. i have tomorrow again more guests and lunch.....aprox. 10 - 11 people..wine and beer..and i can' t run away because i'm hostess...but today is today and i'm going to be AF for next hours..Tomorrow is an other day...

                            G'day Audrey,

I agree with Reggie. Hang onto your precious sobriety, and let the others get drunk if thats what they want to do. Be selfish if you have to, and protect your sobriety for today.

I am a bit worried though when you say you are afraid of your boyfriend. Are you safe?

Thankfully my BF isn' t physically agressive rather i can beat him He is just bothersome and irritating.
He already fall asleep in his son' s bed woke up...when i'm sober is so difficult for me to look at him when he' s very drunk..when he' s sensible with AL it' s ok..
But probably i don't look like a princess when i'm drunk too
Yes, i'm very self-controled even when i'm drunk but there were times when i just passed out in a bed with my nice dress and high heels so my BF took care of me..i don' t blame him but he' s really not convinced to quit AL..he don' t push me to drink because he knows our problem but it' s hard to quit drinkling when your partner thinks he' s ok but he really isn' t ok..he' s alcocholic..
