Underoos and Revered International Guests - December 2011

now froggie, you can't POSSIBLY eat all that by yourself, so i'll be over in a few hrs.

juja, you're so right - SCREW the housework!!! :H:H
will try your fruitcake one time too - OH quite likes it.
y'know, i get what your saying about getting gifts from the heart. my OH buys me perfume, jewellery, that sort of caper, which i DON"T wear (well, the perfume i do like) but after 15 yrs of marriage he's never ONCE thought to buy me something for my animals, which are my true passion. for e.g, my good friend's partner organised a hand-made bridle for her birthday, which is something i would absolutely go weak for! just seems to not know what i really want. dickhead.

on a brighter front, a lovely day here but getting a few scorchers in before xmas. i'll be taking orf on Turds-day, yippee, but will take lappie & attempt to log on when i have some private time between mother & father & OH. which might not happen. BUT i will try!

A trip to the next town today where there is a butcher (80kms away) to pick up my ham & turkin.....better get photos huh!

i have an idea, why don't we all take photos of our chrissy lunch spreads & post them?
just a thought, but for me it would sort of mean that i'm still sharing my time with you lot!
if no-one else wants to, that's fine! 6th day of sobriety here today.

Rags -- Why is there no Ben and Jerrys in your freezer.
.I must say, coming here and reading back, feels like coming home in a way.
Ummm, because I've never heard of Ben and Jerrys. Is it anything like Tom and Jerry?

            Hi Beags,
Chrissy lunch. I still am undecided whether to go.

Chrissy dinner will be fairly simple and quiet. Just Mr Rags and my mate from Sydney (who hasn't been to his parents for Christmas for the last 12 years or so). But I'll take a piccy or two.

Mr Rags is getting in a bit of seafood, and the gravlax should be ready.
I bought a cake as I couldn't be bothered making one, or a Christmas pudding. There are these great ones that I get from Coles... Pop a bit of ice cream or cream with it and yummo.
The cheeses aren't anything lovely and exotic like Tawns..... King Island Blue, a Brie, Jindi Vintage cheddar and a South Cape goats cheese. All sitting quietly in the fridge.

And if I don't sound enthusiastic about the family lunch, this was part of the email that Mr Rags and I received from his brother..... who is just as arrogant and smarmy in real life.

            Hi various siblings,
Just thought that we’d better clarify Chrissy plans.

Catering: If my failing memory serves me correctly XXX has indicated that he’ll be bringing some dead animal of various style. I assume [perhaps incorrectly] that XXXX may do their traditional sea food. XXX was arranging for a friend to do a smoked salmon and ham [? A viable option]. This leaves XXX I thought that we would bring up some salads.

                  And here's a picture kiddies.
I like it as it's light, moist and only a couple of inches thick. Bought 4 of them. One for overseas trip later next year.

                    And on a similar note...
Krispy Kreme..... now there's something that should never have seen the light of day, yet it somehow grew into an international franchise.

Never got krispy kreme either.....we dont' have them in WA but I cannot believe how many people bring them back from the eastern states on the plane.

Heart-breaking morning at the hospital.......looks like this is the way forward now. Every week go in and unwrap the finger..........see what falls off until eventually skin should grow over the remainder. It could take weeks or months, they don't know. It might not even happen. My fear is his pain and an infection setting in. I know it is bad when I see other parents in the room shedding tears for my baby.......next time I will ask for them to pull the curtain, not so much for us but I don't think other people need to be traumatised as well.

Anyway, time to ice the christmas cakes.

Ellaq, that must be so hard on you. Have grafts been mentioned?

No grafts.....it would seem that the body will deal with it. We are waiting for it to grow skin over the surviving bit after it has rejected the bits that won't make it. It is truly amazing our the body works....
