Underoos and Revered International Guests - December 2011

    Morning undies and happy Xmas!

There is quite a lot going on here and I haven't got time to read back or stay on for long. But just wanted to let you all know how important you all are to me. We sail off into the sunset at 5:30 today and will be out of contact until new years, so keep yourselves safe until then!
Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

          Morning Undies and Internationalist Guests.
All the Christmas cheer is just lovely in here.
Pressies unwrapped, 3 of the 5 new dog toys already destroyed, some sweet fattening danish demolished.
all in all good start to the day. Orf to shower and frequent a few peoples houses.
MIL is over for a late lunch.
Have a VERY MERRY Christmas Day whatever you do kids!
And lots of these from me to you all ...:l:l:l

So, Undies, my lunch is done and dusted. As I said, long-standing tradition, lunch of soggy tomato & onion sangers with old mate. We sat in the shade with lappy (to send some chrissy-type stuff to rellos) and reading matter and generally feeling good about no-nonsense, no-dishes, no-stress. So up hops Missy:

She actually knocked off one of the sangers! But ... considering what my reading material was, I figured that was ok.

Roast chook's fine but would you consider serving it on a gay and festive plate/platter/salver rather than just ripping it's guts out straight from the foil bag?

I know, I know .... I've been called a pedant before ... but what would they know?

Yacking with the mate this arvo ... (we're both Henry Lawson groupies) ... thought I should share ...

Along by merry Christmas time they buy the aged goose,
And boil the dread plum pudding, because of ancient use.
But to sneer at old time customs would be nothing but a crime,
For the memory of the Past is all bound up in Christmas time.

Then Jim comes home from shearing, and he puts a few away,
With Dad, perhaps, or Uncle, but they're right on Christmas Day:
For be it on the Never, or 'neath the church bells' chime,
The family gets together, if they can, at Christmas time.

And, after tea at Christmas, they clear the things away
And play the dear old silly games our grand-folk used to play
And Dad gives a recitation that used to be the joy
Of all the Western countryside, when Father was a boy.

Along by merry Christmas time, and ere the week is o'er
We meet and fix up quarrels that each was sorry for.
Our hearts are filled with kindness and forgiveness sublime,
For no one knows where one may be next merry Christmas time.

                                (my bold)
