Underoos and Revered International Guests - December 2011

    Well good morning again.
Seems like about 5 minutes ago that I was saying that yesterday.
New Years resolution is to acheive a deep clean in every room, one room at a time.
    One down.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

        Good Morning Undies,

        Hello to all.

Just wanted to say, Tawny, that the picture is good.

I am amazed at how fast the new digitals are compared to the early ones. It seemed we always got blurred pictures of the children when they were young and running around.

Today, we can snap clear pictures and several in a row.

        I love it.

            Put appropriate Inappropriate word here.

I was over the moon about my new compound mitre saw and then I saw Tawny's picture. Now I want a new camera. But I spent the money on the compound mitre saw, and I can't take it back, because I want it too. And I would also like Missy the chicken. She's purty. I would hold her and pet her and always be nice to her. And when her back is turned I would steal her eggs.

            Inappropriate Word.

I would also like the ferns (especially lush staghorn) and the table the headless torso is on. But not the headless torso, "that kinda creeps me out a little

I would send a picture of my new compound mitre saw, but my camera is broke.

Hope everyone had a fabulous day.

I am not familiar with some of the terms from under.
                Please excuse my ignorance.
What is a B&I Mr Happs

                Beautiful and Illuminated
Brawny and (hm can't think of an I word that works)
Brave and (Maybe it's an oz word that starts with I)
                Bitchy and Itchy
                Bloated and Irritable

They're probably all wrong, please help.

Sorry to hear about your friend, that is not something to look forward to.

                  Morning Undies and Internationalistas,

I've steam mopped but don't achieve the same Zen-like state that Reggie does.

So, Wally - what are you going to do with your compound mitre saw? Picture frames? Architraves?

And Happs - does this mean you've completely escaped a visit from the Old Goat?

Orf to clean some more and then it's out into the brilliant sunshine. Have a ripper day.

Tawny I am going to put moulding around my floors and ceilings in the bedrooms.
And I am going to build a new wall for my bathroom. (After I take down the old one and the unused chimney behind it).
And then I am going to build shelves for the bathroom with wicker baskets to hold toiletries etc.
After that I am going to finish basement.
Then I am going to build cold frames for outside in the spring.
then I am going to build something to hide the garbage cans, because they are ugly.
Then it will be summer and I will be gardening (Yippee)
After that I am contemplating replacing the kitchen cupboards. So I will need new moulding in that room as well.
Then I would like to rework the staircase to the basement, to better utilize the headroom which is currently a two storey breeding ground for cobwebs.
                    Well you did ask!
I can't wait to see what you do with your camera. I love your pictures.

Busy and Important Wally...like me today...have to clear the backlog from not working for 5 days...so chained to the 'puter...

No escape Tawny...hes still coming...not worried in the slightest until he gets here....nothing is going to take my eyes of the prize or some sort of shit like that.

Do any of you cleaner types want to volunteer to do the place we're leaving behind? Its a bit skanky...

Will have a brief break to go out and buy carpet tiles for two small bedrooms...there is no time to get the floors done and I've got a super ebay deal happening...

hello everyone, i am back. sorry to go MIA over Xmas but i left the farm in buggardly heat on Thurs to do groc shopping before the crowds, on my way over to our little southwest farm. got all groc shopping done in record time before the dogs melted in the increasing heat.
got to said southwest farm to discover that someone had left the gate to the paddock open & the cows had trampled over EVERYTHING. i mean, there was cow-shit everywhere & little to no foliage left in the gardens. broken branches everwhere. gravilleas eaten. taps broken off, lawn scruffled & munched & did i mention that there was cow shit everywhere??
anyhoo spent the hot arvo inside then in a snot, getting nothing done.
next day (Fri), had my lappie with me to log on & say hi etc etc but then discovered i'd left my innernet connector thingy at home, & thus couldn't get on. grrr.
then OH rings to say he's coming over early & with mother arriving next morning, NO TIME to self. blah. grrrr.
but on the upside i was pretty organised food wise, had it all down (cow)pat.....
entree was : lime & tequila marinated prawns with avo salsa, + fresh asparagus wrapped in proscuitto with french hollandaise.
main was : ginger glazed ham, the turcken (which was bland & disappointing), sweet potato & pinenut salad, twice cooked spuds, green beans.
dessert was a trifle mum made which was gaggingly sweet & thankfully not soaked in grog, & pud which was microwaved (thank you Ernest Hillier!).
i love the ham, love feasting on it for days afterwards.
we also had a mystery guest, the local tyre-fitting fella who is from Qld & came over here when he lost all in the floods - hence no family, so we included him for a coupla days. he's a big, brawny fella with lots of tatts & says "fair dinkum" a lot but he was a good foil for my dad who is overpoweringly loud & my mother who is excruciatingly reserved.

then boxing day i lolled, reading a bizarre Xmas gift - the autobiography of Bear grylls ( from Mans vs Wild) which MIL had given us.......oh well, passed the time!!

drove home yesty to ravenous magpie & fat lazy horses.....
OH & FIL straight back into harvesting before more bad weather (forecast for weekend) hits us. straight back into the ole boring routine. gack. blah. grrrrrr.

reading back 10 pages, i see all had good xmasses except for poor darling zenny losing her beloved Sean.....how very sad. but now Zen ,you can get on with healing & not worrying about him, knowing he is free from pain.

a lovely couple (clients of mine) gave me a box of Guylian chocs - you know, the seashell ones. a double layered box. oh lord have mercy. i'm going to have to eat them.

                            right, better get cooking. literally.

all the best for you lot.

That is the most wonderful looking cake….

Just reading back. Sorry to hear about your cat Zenny. I have been going through some slides I’m going to scan later, and came across pics of cats I’ve had in the past. Brought a smile, and a tear to my eyes.

My mate has been SO helpful showing me all the good stuff on my phone. It is now a flashlight, a compass, a spirit level, a bus rail and ferry timetable, tide tables, barcode scanner, a paper camera, an ordinary camera, a photo editing program,, fm radio, a map of the constellations,, music and I think it even works as a phone too!
Wonder if there’s a compound mitre saw app I can get for my phone?

Beags, what a mess you must have arrived to! Mr Rags left a gate open and the deer got in Xmas night and ate a few things including my multiple graft peach/nectarine tree. Now there’s a good argument for venison.

Going up to Sydney on Friday to house/cat sit for a couple of weeks…… and 10 minutes walk away I’ll be at a great viewing place to see…….

Now, for this next one, turn your speakers up, and put it on full screen!!!

                                Rags,

I posted on another thread that I now want to come to Sydney for New Years. I checked on Expedia and it would cost a mere $3022.00 and only take 33 hours to get there, which means if I left tomorrow, I could get there at 8:10 a.m. the morning of the 31st. I love cats, too....

I guess I will have to settle for the fireworks in my little town here in Alabama. sigh

re the phone: I, too, have one of those. I haven't plumbed all the depths of its abilities, yet. My grandchildren have, though. When I give it to my 2 1/2 year old so he can play Angry Birds, I never know what my screen will end up with. My daughter says he adds "widgets" to my phone, whatever that means. Currently, when my phone comes on, I have the time and date with weather information. If it is raining, you hear a storm and windshield wipers turn on and wipe the screen. I will see Ollie soon and let him play on it again to see what else he can come up with for me.
