This place is SO dead! I've been clearing the shop for hours of the stuff we took out of aunt's house. Wish ya'll were close enough to look through it. I have the enclosed trailer full of stuff to yard sale after Christmas, and the little stuff that doesn't sell, I'll put up a 'free if you take it today' sign. Tried to give Tay kitchen stools, a blender, a newer model rolltop desk, but she turned up her nose of course. Don't know about that girl. Hub's just went to our property on the bypass to check out places to put it all, and it's still full of stuff from a yardsale years ago. I'd much rather just donate it all, but it's hard to get the stuff to them from out here. Now to cook supper, chicken tender sandwiches.

well hope everyone is out and about doing their xmas shopping .. but there always one thing to rememeber you cant buy love it is given from the heart and always there when you least adspeck it .. so sending out a love package full of big hugs and sweet kisses my dear friends.. its not a package you can hold but you can feel everytime you think about that great time you have had with the one and many you love and know that they love you ... so i just would like to say i love you all ..have a great nighty night sweet things

Just checking in. Worked today and now me and hubs are just hanging out wrapping some presents. We have been home alone a lot lately. The beginnings of that empty nest. Youngest is out shopping with friends, I worry so when they go out with more than a couple of kids in the car.I pray everyday to keep them safe and healthy. Just a few more gifts to wrap and lots of cooking to do. Not many Christmas cards this year, I guess with the cost of stamps who can afford it? Don't know why I secretly expect a card from my family , stupid I know. Oh well. Goodnight my dear ones:hGina

Good Morning everyone - gosh, it was SO quiet here last night. I got in really lae from work and didn't even post - and here I am again! Cup of tea in hand and hitting the floor running. Hope everyone has a great day - I have been in touch with Grateful and she is fine - just really busy at work, working long hours and getting over the SE from the epi, but she is okay. Vicki too is okay, so no worries everyone - they will be back! Swannie - well, it would be nice if she would post! It would be nice if they ALL would post!

Mama, all of our snow melted already! It looks like we will be having a green Christmas. I'm bummed, as I was going to take my x country skis to Mrs. Fen's fam's Christmas bacchanal....errr, I mean "celebration"!

Otherwise, yes...it's awesome there. You can't help but wind down when you're there. Once we're all married, we can live out there together! :H

Hello, all. I'm dealing with a lot of personal issues, so won't expand on them. As always, I have more people in my life than most, so ergo more people aggravatating me. Had long calls yesterday between my cousin, who needs to sell land, and son, who wants to buy it. Don't know why I always get stuck as the go-between. Cousin is being fed a line by a realator so they will get a commission, but he is desperate for money, again. I don't know what will happen to him once this is gone, because he'll be lost, with no job. He's having problems with his recently 21 y-o daughter, and I've invited them both to our annual Christmas Eve gathering. Not a popular move, but it's my party!
Son's GF will be in Daytona FL with her g'parents for the holidays, but I will have all my babies here. It gets harder each year to circle the wagons, but I'm thankful for this year. GF is very torn about being away from our family, and so is son, so I'll take that as a good thing, right?.
SOOooo, after going through half the storage building yest, I've loaded a houseload of furniture to be stored in the by-pass property. Will have a yard sale there as soon as possible. Found some wonderful things in all the mess, especially 1950-style jewelry. Apparently my gentle little aunt like sparkly things! I also found a 'princess ring', just like my parents gave me and was stolen when we were robbed, in the early 90's. I'm going to wear it, in memory of Momma and Daddy, who gave it to me on my 13th BD. Having long, good, conversations with Tay about future. She's trusting me more, and we've been trying to sort out where she's going. Even talked about pregancy, it's ramifications. We have a lot more talking to do, since she does NOT want babies right now. There's much more I pick up on, but won't post. It's a slow process, after living with her mother.
T, thank you and Sue again for the card. I'm SO happy you're now OVERWORKED, but HEY, it's better than the drought, right? I know you're trying to provide for Christmas, but don't let their wants overceed what you can do. You are a good person, and you can't make up time with material things. It's better that you're there for them, all the time, and giving them youself, IMHO. We do a quirky little thing with our grands: Hubs fills up a jar of his loose change he stashes in a jar in the bedroom, and the the child who guesses the amount closest gets a $50 bill. Second closest gets the jar of change. They love it, unless someone else wins it! :H Last year Beck's son won the $50, and Riley won the jar. Our one caveat is that the children get to use the money on what they want.
G, the worry never stopsl Watching our heart walk away from us is the best description. TRY to remember when you were that age, and how you thought (though it may scare the crap outta you!) but nothing we do will prevent their ventures into the world. I could tell you the ridulouse stories of what I did when my kids were teens, but it doesn't help. We have to pray, that we taught them right, that our kids are intelligent enough to recognize danger and brave enough to run from it. Stay close to your girls, encourage them to talk, and temper your advice with today's lifestyles. I'll say I've spent MANY sleepless nights, so it's what we get when our children grow up.
Tay and JC are here, and at work, so I'll be back when I can. I can see I have to make so phone calls. (YES, you know who you are!) I feel really nekkid out here, posting stuff with no other posters. Ya'll mad at me? Hmmm, time to start thinking about a vacation.

I love the change jar idea!! we always send the boys on a scavneger hunt all over the house and yard looking for money.....last year it was really funny cause Nana forgot to hide the money!!!!! She gave them all clues, but forgot the money!!

You know...we could get some really CHEAPO rates on an ocean front condo in St Augustine......all of us could meet there for a long weekend in Feb or March......who is up for that??? St Augustine is so lovely

Oh, I LOVE St. Aug!!! What a wonderful, historic cirties. Much as the Europeans think we have no history, we have places (even archiological digs) , just miles from our house. And landmarks on our property dating to the 1820's. YES, that's new for the Euorpean continienst, but thiese were people who had travelled across a small landway to this country, amd both myself and Hubs are descended from them. The Creek, Cherokee, and Ockmulgua. So its a great thing to know where our heritate came from, PLUS he Eurpean contintent.
