Jan - Vegemite - is LOVELY - you have to have a slice of toast - put some butter on it then just put a VERY small amount of vegemite on it - just a really teeny tiny amount. I have lots but I love it - just a teeny bit! It really is yummy!!!

Thanks juja for explaining the quote thingy - I had never thought about deleting the stuff I didn't want!

I've been going thru some stressful times. Lots going on. Back on the antabuse as of today. I was in a downward spiral with no end in sight so I'm back to what I know worked for me before.

The point of it is that it is YUMMY !!! Like some people have toast and jam - I have toast and Marmite! I love it - in England, babies are often given Marmite fingers - toast cut into 'fingers' and they chew on them - it has lots of Vit B in it too! you just need to start off with a tiny amount!

MB, I'm not even going to ask anyone to let me taste the veggie whatever. I'm sure it's an acquired taste, and more popular in some places than others. But as popular as chittlings, turkey necks, pigs feet, sushi, are in some circles, I ain't going there.
Nora, DARLING! I've missed you so much. I'm sorry you've lost your momentum on your journey, but never be ashamed to post here. AL won't relieve the problems in your life, only complicate them. Sun, again, I hope your co-workers appreciate you. I bet they trample each other to see if you come bearing gifts each day. You're the kind of person who really makes the holidays happy.
I've grueled through another shopping day, and I officially think at least half the population had no home training, has no idea how to behave towards their fellow man. I had the very ill-conceived idea to finish my grocery shopping at Wally world, and besides Tay and JC acting like the village idiots, I hade to make a pit stop in the ladies room and someone must have died in one of the stalls - it looked like it had been sprayed with pooh. And they LEFT if that way. Then I walked out and ran directly into 2 police officers leading a handcuffed young man out the back door of the store. Some man was walking around alone talking behind me, and I figured he had an earbud in for a phone till he walked up to me and said, 'Hey, aren't you going to talk to me.' I'd never seen him in my life. He walked off still talking. People were just rude, pushing in front of everyone, being mean to the store employees. The easiest thing I did was checking out when a clerk walked up and said she could take me in her lane. I went out of my way to be cheerful and gracious to them all, and wishing them Merry Christmas. Even in an upscale shop I was in, the saleswoman was showing me some things when another older lady asked her a question and the saleswoman snapped at her to wait her turn, there was only one of her. Tay looked at me like 'what just happened?' Hubs said he was announcing Saturday that no one over 18 gets a Christmas present next year. Ho Ho Ho. But I don't have to go out again, except to take a gift to my neighbors who always show up on Christmas Eve loaded with homemade goodies on lovely seasonal trays. I took the cowards way out, bought them a darling little buttercream cake with an icing poinsetta covering the top. Also bought dessert for us, a beautiful chocolate ganache cake. The food will be over the top, as usual, but not a lot of cooking for me. I have some more wrapping, and lots of cleaning to do, and I've taken a solemn oath to do all my shopping online in the future. Oh, AND it's pouring rain here, with lightening and thunder, supposed to keep it up the next 4 days.
Hope you're all enjoying the winter solstice. It was dark here just a little after 5. Being home, warm and dry, with my family (even though Hubs is a real nag today - I told him to give me another early present and STFU) is the best way to spend the Christmas holidays. Can't wait to see all my kids on Saturday, will take pics for ya'll. I don't have as much stuff for them to open as usual, and it's the opening they love, but we'll have the coin jar game again, and everyone gets at least 2 gifts, and all you can eat.
All you lovely people be safe and careful over the next few days, and kill the rude people out there with kindness. They won't understand it, but you'll take the high road, and that's what counts.
