The Journey begins here so get YOUR ASSES IN GEAR!!!! for december

Went to bed way to early, so I'm up at the sparrow's fart this AM. I'll be sleepy again in an hour or so. Yuck.
I found this wonderful old black and white snapshot, taken at my Granny Chit's June, 1959, of MOST of my cousins. Priceless. What a great thing to take to family reunion next year. It was in my dear aunt's things.
Sun, I know I've told you the story of the chihuahua we had who produced the most noxious gas on earth. Daughter was holding him on a college scouting trip when we stopped at a little gift shop, and the dog practically cleared the shop, poor daughter holding him and looking desperate to explain. Could bring tears to your eyes.
T, I see you're Jonesing for the old chat line a bit. I've tried several times to get people there, but no luck, so far. GI was on a lot yesterday, but he posts and then walks away, so never able to connect. I miss you guys. My laptop is still down, too. Hey, why don't we make a date for a meet-up? Maybe others will want to see what we're up to. We might be able to even entice your honey, Sunny, sometimes.
G, you're sounding a bit more chipper, hon. Good. I hate the expression 'If life gives you lemons....' but it looks like you're on a good path right now. Don't be fooled, honey. Childhood is something we spend the rest of our life trying to overcome, no matter WHO we are. I had the pervert uncles (can't count how many uncles I had!), a very naive momma I took care of from childhood, a wild and crazy, amazing Daddy, and now each day brings another crisis with someone, from in-laws to grands.
But if I sound whiney, I'm sorry. I can't imagine my life any other way. Everything, since I can remember, has seemed normal when it's extraordinary. Stuff happens to me that's unbelievable, but the daily occurance for me. When you've got witches, FBI digging up dead bodies, nekkid Santas, haunted houses, popping up daily, and the constant influx of people's lives when they tell you more than you ever wanted to know, just to rent a house, you just go with the flow. It sounds like you have a good handle on your personal life, have great people around you, (as long as your hubby doesn't tick you off to much), and a good plan for the future. It's good to see you posting, sounding more upbeat. Hope you'll all be together for the holidays.
NOW I'm sleepy. Catch ya'll later.

Yes, Birdy, they've amended the forcast now (why do we listen to them??) so it's gonna be more normal temps now. I don't have the snuggly flannel gown I gave Grateful, but I actually have slipper socks on my feet now, and I HATE anything on my feet. Oh, well. It IS winter, and if the warm weather saves those who can't stay warm, it's great. Still, 60ish is the projected daily average this week (during the day), so not too bad. We need to get a chat going. I got busy, neglected it, lost my laptop feature, all that stuff, but we had people who only came there, and I miss them. Let's make a date. Check in at 9 PM EST, OK?
SUCH a quiet bunch lately. I slept wonderfully for 5 1/2 hours last night, then back to sleep a bit at 5 AM. Himself is gone, he has an agenda for his off-days I'm not privy to, apparently (just Lord keep him away from my kitchen!!).
SOS, Grateful, Swannie, I''m ready to send out a search party. WTH are ya'll doing you can't at least let us know you're above the daisies? Keep it up and your phone will be ringing. All the time.
Oh, well, time for me to start kicking at the cobwebs, getting my house in order. Got word my (step) g-daughter and family will be here for Christmas. Her 2 boys, 3 and 1, are truly gigantic (you would not believe the doctors she's taken them to to be sure they're OK) but perfectly proportion, just B-I-G! She's a bit lost with both her parents moving on and starting new lives, so I want to be her anchor, a place she knows and feels loved.
Now it's time to go start beating everyone else in shape, so I'll see ya'll later.

MB, Hub's spontaneous emissions, scare Tink into another room.
Glad to hear about your Dad. Will you be spending any time with them? We pushed Christmas back, too, for Momma, but she died on Dec 29, 2001. She and Daddy were the heart of our exextended family's Christmas. The goat in the living room with a red bow, and the diamond solitare (I bought for Daddy) were highlights, but every one was a classic. They LOVED the season, and surprising someone else. If nothing else, hold a celebration where he is.

Good Morning everyone - been up and doing running round before the mania hit the shops.
Jan - Roger and Sunni sitting in a tree ??? LOL
Ruby - I was up early and fed the dogs, let them out, let them back in and went back to bed for a while!! When I first got up, I thought it was Monday - it was LOVELY when I realised it was Sunday and my day off!! I usually go to bed too early these days to go into chat - I used to go there but then the folk that used to go there stopped going. I sometimes look but there is usually no-one there.
                  Vicki and Grateful - please post.....PLEASE ????
Bird - sorry about your asthma - sounds awful for you - :l yes, I bet it is lovely not to have to have homework!
Fen - you are so good about working out - I can't remember the last time I worked out!! Shame on me. I have been wearing a pedometer though and on my busiest day at work I walked 20,000 steps - on my day off, I usually clock in 5000 !! LOL Yesterday, I only got about 15,000 for some reason. The amount 'they' say you should aim for is 10,000 a day!
I am planning on wrapping pressies today - not exactly my favourite thing to do though so I suppose I am procrastinating a bit. AND I didn't hoover in the end last night either. Oh well, must get to that as well. Back later everyone - love and hugs,

                  sun XX

Thanks for reminding me, Sun, about Bird's asthma problems. (YES, I took another nap, which I didn't have time for but did). Mel, isn't adult asthma as severe as yours a bit rare? PLEASE don't skimp on your meds, friend. You know, contacting the supplier/maker, you can sometimes get a big break on the cost when the price is too high. Don't let yourself suffer from this anymore than you can. I can't stand to think of you having these problems untreated, since I know how hale and hearty you usually are. I'm glad you have your meds for now, at least.
Fen, that was short and sweet. Hope you had a wonderful time at your retreat. Please report back to us shortly.
Sun, every time I wake up it seems I wonder where I am and what YEAR it is!! :H Yeah, I'm old. Sleep is such a difficult thing to chase, it seems, and I DID go to sleep too early last night, since I haven't slept well lately. So, conversely, I woke way too early. Did catch a good movie while I was shopping online. Enjoy your day off. One day you'll be as old and decrepit as me, and have to stay home with your retired hubs!
We need some peeps to check in, or I'm gonna have to start dialing. Hmmmmmm.......

Rubes - I am not going to retire! I love my job. I see no need for me to retire. Hubs asked me when I was going to retire and I told him it hadn't even crossed my mind!! I WOULD like more time at home in the garden in the spring and summer but SO enjoy where I work! And the thought of being with Hubs 24/7 - OMG !!!!!! LOL

That's what I thought, Sun. But I do love the ability to not be chained to a schedule. It's SO obvious you love what you do, but I'm also facing himself's retirement with GREAT reservations. The man hates to be alone.

Making the corned beef now-- house smells great!

MB--I am lucky-- that injury still affects me. I wonder soemtimes if I am not liek Henry the 8th (not the huge part though I am worried about that too--hee) but he fell from a horse and was unconscious for hours right before Anne Boleyn miscarried-- and that is a point where he began his truly tyrannical ways-- I often feel like I am not how I used to be and because the area injured was impulse control-- it could explain the issues with food and drinking in part (which never used to be issues)-- however I stayed pretty thin until I got pregannt which was 2.5 years after the concussion so maybe that is not it--but I suppose it could have an effect from time to time.

I wish it would get colder down here-- not the 70s but still too hot in my book.
