Sending good wishes to all for 2012-i wish all of you health and happiness,we have a great support system here and i know there have been problems over the festive time for many but even reading here gives me that feeling of warmth and help...it was lovely to speak with sunni and im glad she passed on my hellos to all-i also sent her a card (gosh this swan is getting adventourous)!!

The pictures of all the families and stories of christmas have helped me alot-it hasnt been easy.. and i value each and every one of you so...come on lets all make this next year a happy sober one

Thrasher, I'm cooking my usual - greens (I just buy a couple of cans of Margaret Holmes mixed seasoned greens, Hubs loves them) and a couple or 3 cans of the same brand seasoned BE peas. I'll cook the ham bone from Christmas in with the greens, make my never-the-same skillet cornbread, and maybe my never-the-same meatloaf. Add in some deviled eggs, coleslaw or potato salad, and some brownies with ice cream or skillet pecan pie for dessert, and Hubs should be sleeping by 6 PM. :H
Mish, Chickie is quite the little diva isn't she? So cute, cuddling with you for safety and comfort. Tinker is that way after a vet visit involving injections. So glad things seem to have settled a bit for you. Could you contact the cousin you mentioned and ask her WHAT exactly is needed right now? Seems like she has a proper in-road with Ashe.
You 2 'Lisciouses, Nay Nay, Le Ray, K to the L, Tony, Bill, T, Swan, G, everyone out there, have a great New Year's Eve, but be careful. There were terrible accidents here Christmas Eve, and all we really want is a safe, healthy family in the end, right?
Off to pick up my other child, Tay. JC is working so she's stranded and doesn't like it!!

Deviled eggs-- yes! I am not sure what meat I should do. My mom always did ham. I am totally peeved-- lookslike I am being tested again by her-- we were to go there and she writes saying my dad is sick with some contagious stomach flu. Says it is up to us to come. Well Luke is back in school next week and I do not want him to be ill. So I say let me know when he is done being sick we will come for a few days-- hut how is he? No response. As hubs says-- clearly another game-- wanted us to come despite his illness or to call about it-- it is hard to call when I am at the Muppet movie with a sad 6 year old who wanted to see his GPs! Lots of distraction needed. anyway-- guess I will try to plan the day-- maybe bowling or something.

It's those buttons, ATL. Remember, she knows how to push them 'cause she installed them. Sorry your son was disappointed. I'd jump for joy if daughter's family ever came to stay over, but since they're only a little over an hour away and always busy, they don't unless we have a death in the immediate family. Ham would be good with your greens and peas. Maybe some sweet potatoes around it, or pineapple rings stuck on with cloves and cherries in the center is always pretty. If you go with sweet potatoes, boil them a little while to partially cook, then peel and once you play them around the ham to bake, glaze them with ham glaze, sugar water, or thinned down honey, sprinkle with a little sugar and cinnamon.
Tay is walking around whinging about being hungry. Told her to cook herself something and grow up!

December is almost over, New Years Eve is here and just drove by the ABC store which is the Liquor only run store that is run by the state. What I noticed is that every single parking spot was taken and this is a first, that I have seen it so busy. they were parking across the street and crossing a 4 lane major highway to get that booze.. I am so glad I am AF, i stopped couting days made me feel like I was almost in a competition rather than be at peace with myself and know I can stop. I do beleive I have been AF most of Decemember since I did start close to the end of November if not the start of December. I will not be drinking tonight, As long as nothing stressful from the past comes up I will not be drinking and will have a good friend over that does not drink. Even if something stressful does come up, I have plans in place to deal with it. I do repeat myself ALOT, this is geared to the people eading and who do not post, AL is no joke it does catch up with ones health. I thought I was invincible and AL would not affect me, but it has beeen the cause of me having to take 2 blood pressure meds and 2 cholestrerol meds not to mention soe anxity meds when needed.I do not miss the achy beat up feeling, the bloated stomach, the blaoted ahnds and feet, the bloodshot eyes, the insane excuses I would have to make up why I was not going places, do not miss not being able to eat for days since I would have no appatite. I do not miss having to pay somewhere around 22 dollars to get drunk for the night and if I was running low on cash I would have to buy the cheaper rum which was still around 15 dollars a gallon. With the cheaper rum came all the hangiver symtoms worser by over 5 times worse. Now that I am single and back int the singles scene, who really wants a drunk as a boyfriend?, maybe a social drinker but I can never go back to drinking in moderation, It Feels to good not to be AF.

You've come a long way too, Guy, and imagine having a New Year's Eve you will actually remember!! Wow! Hubs always OD's on food and work, goes to sleep early, but never passing out. I've enjoyed staying up to watch eclipses, meteor showers, fireworks, lots of things I missed when I couldn't drive or stay awake because of AL. Do it any way you need, love, just keep doing it. You sound so good, and you NAILED the symptoms associated with too my AL.

Rubes-- awesome idea. Mom update-- I wrote her asking how my dad was. She did not reply. Mark was sick of it and wrote her-- instant reply and intimated that I was not wanting to come-- since he saw her original note he knew it was horse manure. My dad is now mysteriously well-- aarrggh! Anyway we will go over Sunday and might come back Monday-- I don't want to be rushing back the day before school starts.

I think I will do a ham. Do you like those Glory vegs Ruby? I really do-- they are quite good for canned. Thinking cornbread will go well too.
