ATL, I like them too. They are actually cooked and seasoned the Southern way, don't taste tinny. Yes, MB, now I'm think of a pineapple ham with sweet 'taters. My fav meal is meatloaf (mine), greens, pintos, mashed 'taters, and accoutrement. With homemade relish, of course, and hot buttered cornbread, sliced GOOD tomatoes. We have it every few weeks. Hubs could live on my cornbread and fried cabbage, though.

Oh, and MB, I'm gonna do a video of Sadie before dressed and during. It's HYSTERICAL. May post it on YouTube, just for fun, if I can figure out how. She's our favorite party trick. Even putting a hat on her freezes her. Rog and Sue have seen it, Sue just couldn't quit snapping pictures.

hey everyone - I am home from work - we were so crazy busy - it was like before Christmas again! Jan - laughed at Psycho cardinal tapping on your window!
Aguy - you are absolutely AWESOME - I have no idea how you have done this but in my eyes, you are incredible. Absolutely incredible. kudos to you :l And I love how you keep repeating yourself in your posts - I think it is so important that new people reading it know where you were. you should be SO proud of yourself - I know I am darned proud of you. Just wonderful. You have a wonderful SOBER New years Eve!!
ATL - I wouldn't know if I was coming or going with your mum - what is she playing at? Does she want you there or doesn't she?? Gosh - no wonder you are upset with her!
Swannie - sorry I missed you - was at work - but you do sound good! And yes, it was great to chat with you, - sorry it was so quick - and as I told you on the phone, I LOVED the card and felt so honoured!
Fen - we will miss you while you are at the cabin.....

I guess I need to go and feed the animals - and maybe me too.

MB, Daddy had a tomato with every meal, took one with him when he went out. When he died, I brought one in and slipped it in beside him in the casket. My son brought a little tractor and slipped it in too. We just wanted him to feel comfortable, when he started rearranging Heaven.

oh - I messed up - this was a quote from a post from jan that her Hubs had said!!!! I would have slapped him up one side and down the other - or actually I wouldn't have had the chance seeing as I don't have big boobs so he wouldn't have given me the time of day!!!

She is awful lately ya'll but she is convinced it is me. Hubs who says I can be a drama queen pretty much believed me all along due to an incident several years ago when she told him I had suffered a "psychotic break" because my version of events (the true one) did not mesh with hers where she was clearly wrong. He wrote her a note himself this time inquiring after my dad and also because she had ignored me asking after him. She wrote him back almost instantly then covered herself a little later writng me because she knew he would communicate with me about the note.

Mama-- I know you are a bit irreverent at times-- if you are a Tide fan a bit (and I think you said you are) go to Youtube and search for Ricky's Rant-- it is full of profanity but makes me laugh out loud everytime. The guy in the video was even interviewed for others sports blogs after it because he was so extreme.

My MIL just wrote me asking how to make Hoppin' John. My inclination was to tell her to leave it to the Southerners (hee) but she did want to try. Told her about the greens too-- she had not heard of it. Mark wants steak New Years Eve-- not sure why-- but we will have our ham etc for the New Year. He got his insurance physical stuff back and his cholesterol was sky high-- 283 and high triglycerides-- shame shame-- rest was normal though which is good. His steroid inhaler has driven up his cholesterol apparently-- one of those weird side effects but the triglycerides are strange since he plays hockey-- but I guess 2 times a week average is not enough. No cardiac disease in his family though so that is a plus. Guess he and I will just mae (and keep I hope) the same New Years resolutions as usual.

For street names adding Dog is always good to your initial-- J Dog for Jan or taking your first initial and adding eezy with another term--- like Jeezy World Peace for jan (hee)-- but I love the ones you picked. In my high school often the african american gals would often wear pink foam rollers to school (yep-- true) and when they fought they grabbed the rollers out of each others hair. You DID NOT want to try to break those fights up. No men could stop them!

Ooooh, ATL, that IS high. Hubs takes Lipitor, has for years. They have a strong history of heart disease, even though he's well within his weight range, tall and strong as an ox, very active. NO excess fat on him anywhere. Ham and steak are both TERRIBLE for that situation, so ya'll get it outta your systems! :H I've had several skinny, very active friends either have heart attacks or die, so we have to do our best, but maybe he needs to be on a cholesterol reducer to. Hard pill to swallow for most men.
As far as your mom, ignore her. Do what you want, and don't play her games. Ignoring a pain in the ass is usually the best, cause it drives them crazy. I don't pretend to understand her motives, but sounds like she's very insecure in herself. You just be you, let your son enjoy his grandfather.
MB, I'd NEVER interfere when black women fight. You never know when that knife will come out. Cultures are different, in many ways, and those girls who know the streets, have a man involved whether he's worth it or not, will hurt you in ways you never thought of!!
As far as hubby's conditions, I have my own if Hubs ever makes comments about my appearance. Dangerous thing for him to do, and he knows it! :H Hubs brother has always been big, but flabby, and I like tall, fit men, and Hubs knows it. Like I told him, man boobs are about the least attractive attribute a man can have, and pair them with a big belly and I'm OUTTA there!! (Not like I was in there to begin with!) I've been looking through my late Aunt's pictures, and it's incredible how good looking some of our family was, only now to look like the Goodyear Blimp!! Fat and bald!!

Rubes-- he tells me that his cholesterol is down from over 300--yikes!! The meds are part of it but that is too high and with triglycerides also-- that is diet related. It iwll be turkey ham no doubt! My cholesterol is normal but my tris are high. I know it is my weight but hubs is pretty trim. I am with you on the M--OOBs as I can them!
