A Sober Christmas?? No ******** Way!!!!
I am already planning on having the whole month sober, I didn't drink last year course I was too hungover from my Christmas Eve getting wasted and puking on myself to do much of anything Christmas day. Thankfully for me at least there wasn't anything to do that day but to nurse my hangover. But this year will be different. I have dinner at my mom's house so therefore I will NOT DRINK! Course I don't drink anymore so no hangovers and no puking on myself because I was so wasted.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

Had to comment too. You are a natural writer; another Frank McCourt !! Loved your description of the whole turkey episode. I am not allowed to remove large birds or legs of meat from the oven here. I either burn myself or manage to slop grease all over the place; both of which you accomplished in one evening. Now that I am sobering up, I am not reclaiming that job. Not only am I clumsy when I'm tipsy but when I am dead sober too.
I so enjoyed your recounting of your past Christmas and agree that we could write a book with some of the antics we've all been up to. It would be a heartbreaking, hilarious story.
I am joining you in a sober Christmas and I'll be the one to rock the grand-baby to sleep on Christmas Eve and that's the best gift of all.Tipplerette
I do this for my children, my grandchildren, my health, my peace of mind, and mostly for the opportunity to learn to live with my true, unfiltered, clear-headed, vulnerable self.

Thank you Onesy! The timing of me reading this is iincredible! I have been worried about Christmas eve and as I will be alone with the girls for my first Christmas, I am playing Santa - I will have to sneak into rooms with girls who are starting to doubt Santa and really wanting to be believe. I was wondering how i can play santa if i am tipsy, but I realise if I drink, I will not be tipsy and I will be drunk - and therefore I will NOT drink this chrstmas - THANK YOU!!!!!“The only courage you will ever need is the courage to live the life you want"
