Panno - I think that last sentence might apply to your daughter too, but it sounds as if she and her children will be better off in the long run without her partner. Let's hope so anyway.

Sooty - hope you enjoyed your lunch!

Tabbers - shame about your job leads coming to nothing, but at least you're getting some leads. With the economy being the way that it is, it might well take a while to find work, but keep plugging away and eventually you'll get what you deserve. Until then, enjoy your cake!!!

Starty - it's sad that you're missing your mum, but it's good too. What would it say if you didn't miss her? :l

Went to the doc's this morning and she was absolutely delighted when she saw me 'cos she said I looked so much better than I did a year ago . She's one of those rare doctors who genuinely cares about her patients.

I'd finally got round to going to see her about my swollen feet, so she sent me off to the nurse for blood and urine tests. :upset:

I really agree with that bit about avoiding negative people, zen. Everyone has bad days from time to time and they're entitled to feel down and gloomy when that happens, but some people are relentlessly gloomy and they bring everyone else down with them. I'm afraid my brother falls into this category, so I have to come up with all kinds of excuses in order not to spend too much time in his company. People like us, alcoholics or recovering alcoholics, need to be very careful about who we spend time with in order to not to allow others to bring us down.

I am stunned about the outrage over my Piglet comment. "Feck them all"????....that is mean and spiteful and I am sitting here in tears over how ugly some are being. I did not mean to offend or hurt anyone and I totally aggree that Piglet is important...I apologize if I offended and I will not visit here any more.
I thought this website was meant to support people......

I say feck it to my husband, I say feck it to my dog, I say feck it to my mother and I also say feck it to the postman, the woman next door and the parrot.
It's a turn of phrase I use all the time....no need for any crying.
