    Lunchtime drinking vs evening

    Meech, I have found just knowing that it is a learned response was half of the battle. It's like being able to recognize that thought pattern before you act on it should help you immensely. My problem was before I quit the thought of drinking was that bell, and the bell started ringing when the alarm clock went off at 6AM every morning. That is why at one point in my life I thought I was hopeless and could never quit...because the bell never quit ringing. But I found once I quit answering the bell it got easier to resist. Then the bell eventually went away. But for the first month to six weeks it was hard...but I made a pact with myself that drinking would not be an option for that day, then I renewed the pact with myself every morning.
