              Good morning Army!!

              Well, it's actually afternoon here.

Mrs. A - glad to hear that things have improved overnight. Hope your Son-in-law recovers quickly.

KTAB - that's a lovely area you live in. So green and lush.

:hello: to all of you. Hoping you all...

                Good afternoon stirly-girly.

Hope you have a great day too!

I'm envious of where ktabs lives. In fact I'm envious of where everyone in the army lives. So many of us live near to the sea. Does no-one live anywhere shitty?

                  Yo Stirls,

Feel like I'm chasing me tail this morning so decided to sit down and have a cup of coffee and gather me thoughts.

Garden of England, that's a coincidence Reccie. I love the sea, couldn't imagine living to far a drive from it.

I'm bored here at work. Business is very slow today. The only bright note so far was a wee visit from younger son.

Yep, YOU do. :H Just kidding Reccie - there must be something nice about where you live. If you went out to take pictures of your area to show other people, then you would find lovely things. It's when we take for granted the sights around us that the beauty fades. I found that when I hosted Tigger. I ended up going to places that I hadn't been to in a very long time and had forgotten how lovely they were, like the National Gardens in Athens. Mind you now that it's winter there and cold and grey, you might have to look harder, but trust me, there are things worth seeing in most areas. We just have to really see them, not just look at them. And speaking of pictures, I think you said something recently about not knowing how to use Photobucket. It's easy-peasy. Here's the link to what I posted some time ago...

Yep, I know what you mean about taking things for granted, stirls. When I first moved here, I thought it was beautiful. Twenty years on and literally about 10,000 journeys to and from work and I've become bored with the surrounding countryside and stopped seeing it for what it is. Need to change that next year.

Thanks for the Photobucket link. I did manage to post a pic several months back, but lost my password and then forgot how to post them.

Hope business picks up for you later on. Glad you enjoyed the visit from your younger son.

Not much chance for business to pick up Reccie. The economy is really going down the tubes and affecting all of us. People simply don't have any extra money. Christmas is coming up and December and January are the two months that have the most Name Days so they are a financial strain all round. Lots of presents to buy and no money to buy them with. People's hours and therefore their pay cheques are being cut back and that makes it even worse. Some people are really starting to feel the crunch and feel it badly. And my guess is that we haven't seen the worst of it yet.

As far as the area you live in, after being there for so many years, you really don't see the things around you. That applies to all of us. Until we moved out of the city 6 years ago, we used to drive by the Acropolis every morning. At one point on our route, it was directly in front of us, but in the distance. One day I realized that I was looking at it but not really seeing it and I thought of how many thousands of people travel to Greece every year and one of the highlights of their holiday is to visit the Acropolis. And we take it for granted that it's there and don't really see it. Next time you've got some decent weather, take your camera and go take some pictures. The you'll see what I mean.

                                Quick post-lunch check-in.

I need to see if I can get out of town early today, else I'm going to be stuck in traffic for two hours or longer this afternoon. Looks the entire South Africa is going on holiday today.
                                I'll do whatever it takes
