Complete abstinence is easier than perfect moderation.

Like this quote as from what I've experienced and heard, it's so true.

I do this for my children, my grandchildren, my health, my peace of mind, and mostly for the opportunity to learn to live with my true, unfiltered, clear-headed, vulnerable self.

It's true for me Tripplerette. And the rewards are amazing. I think once my drinking got out of control there was no turning back to moderation. It was just too much of a struggle. It's like dieting... I can't do that either. All I would think about was food. Abstinence is just a healthier option for me.

So true. With Complete abstinence, you don't have to worry about sticking to your mod plan and only have the amount of drinks/days and there is no risk of drinking too much since we don't drink.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

True for me since moderation is a fairy tale!

You know, moderation isn't an appealing idea at all to me anymore. I see alcohol for what it is now, and don't want it in my body......And, I want to hold that thought!

Moderation is a kind of torture I think. Abstinence to me means "forget about it and think about something else!"

And I agree with Unwasted - who wants to pour even a moderate amount of poison down their throats???

Yes, agree wholeheartedly. There's nothing to think about, no rules to follow, no worrying about how many you can have, etc. You just don't drink.
