    Health problems caused by alcohol

    Hi all.
If I drink heavily, maybe for a week or two, I sometimes get an excruciating pain in my kidneys. This can last for two or three days. This happened many times. I never went to the doctor about it or anything. I just lay off the vodka until it went away. I had a few medicals for work, blood tests ect., and they always come back A+. I don't understand it. I know that there must be some damage done. Maybe I'm just lucky.
I'm feeling good just now, thank God.

The pain on my right side turned out to be gallstones.
This can be serious if they become lodged in a bile duct.
Had gallbladder removed last year and almost no pain now...

Johnboy, to answer your query: for me at least when binging the swelling is both behind as well as under the ribs on the right side. hurts off and on, but mostly a swelling/presure kind of feeling. if I press on the area it feels spongy....wierd. our poor damn bodies!
