Starty only you can allow unkind words to cut deep. Is the person who uttered them worthy of taking a moments space from your day, I think not.

Reccie, I am with you on the whole chrimbo drinking availability thing. Used to think it was great, you can buy as much as you want at anytime of the day and for consecutive days without anyone batting an eyelid. Big difference from buying a couple of items I dont need in the local shop so its not 'just' a bottle of wine in my hand at the checkout.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

I don't get on with my brother either, it's sad but it is what it is, we can choose our friends but we cannot choose our family.

I used to LOVE getting the drink in for Christmas...it was a very important job.

          Bottle of Bacardi
          Bottle of Vodka
          Bottle of Southern Comfort.

All the necessary mixers and ice.....

I used to line them up in the kitchen...then I bought one of those dispenser things, God I thought I was posh!

ALWAYS had to make sure there was loads of spirits in coz that meant Christmas and it was allowed.

Seriously Starty, I have spent TOO MUCH TIME worrying about what others think of me, what's important is what I think of myself and if I can live with that.....I can now.

I absolutely agree. But for some reason, especially in cyber world I take too much to heart still.

                          Arfternoon all,

Just had a lovely pootle in the car up to Ma and Pa in Law's. I'm really getting the hang of this driving lark. Mind you I'd forgotten what a pain in the rear end de-icing the car was so I got Mr JC to do it while I fiddled with the heater inside the car.

Oh and I forgot to say we finally watched Marley and Me last night. :upset:
It could be worse, I could be filing.

I won't be watching it again any time soon.

You've got me thinking about all the years I used to 'cheer' up me snowballs with a giant shot of gin.

Yes, mollers, it's down to all the taxes the drinks industry contributes to the government coffers, not to mention party political contributions.

Very embarrassing memory Tabs, a few years ago went up to Newry to buy the cheap christmas booze, and I had so much the girl at the checkout asked me how many were going to the party -- I mumbled something about 50 people, and Joey, who was about 10 or so at the time asked me rather loudly 'what party Mum'????? oooooooohhhhhh I'm sinkin into the chair thinkin bout it:upset:
                                :H:H:H .....Sorry!!!

Well done on the scrubbing - been doing much the same myself.

And well done Jackie on the driving. Never seen Marley and Me, but apparently part of it is set in Boca Raton. Wonder if zenners is aware of that.
