Great point Unwasted, We have to learn to be comfortable in our own skin and enjoy the moment. I too have found meditation helps. I try to incorporate mindfulness in my daily routine as well. I also suffer from lonliness and boredom syndromes and have used drinking to block the feelings out. I've been trying to take baby steps, like not always having to have the tv or radio on in the backround while alone in the house. It makes you focus fully on the task at hand and tunes you into the present moment. Focusing on breathing several times a day tunes me into the present.
