Well now there was not much to cheer about Starty in most areas of my life but I count my blessings, accept what I can't change and commit to improve things where I can by keep trying till I achieve my personal goals. As regard AL I am just going to stop, simple as that.

I think your simply stop attitude is the best. Thats what I did. I pledged to stay off it no matter what. It has worked so far.

Well I am not happy with it as things stand and only one person can change that. That is true of a lot of things though when we think about it.

Caffeine being ingested.

I'm just going to see what 2012 brings. Just going to deal with things as they turn up. No doubt some of it will be good, some of it will be sad and some of it will be challenging. There'll be tears and there'll be laughter.

But I'll deal with them the best I can.

Morning everyone i have woken with an awful headcold, stuffy nose my ears feel blocked and my stomach feels ill. All i want to do is sleep. I was to meet my sister for lunch but have to cancel. I think its like what Oney and a few others had before xmas. Not sure what brought it on but i had to wait a bus yesterday evening and it was cold windy and blustery. Just got back to bed with a coffee. Not 2012 will bring either and i don't make new year resolotions but i plan to get back to AA and may be counlsing as i haven't totally stopped but keep working on it. I have another few goals which i will work on as the year draws in. Wishing you all a happy new year and a nice evening. Its a dull grey day but suposted to be milder.:eeew::cupajoe:

Special hugs for Firefox:l. Dull and grey here too hon. The woods are looking rather Blair Witch Project-ish. Still trying to decide if we'll venture out there. Hope you feel better-keep warm.
We have to stock up on a few things.bread, eggs, milk...and I still don't know what we're eating tonight besides the smoked salmon. And treats from the bakery.
I'm thinking scallops.

Shopping done. Friends are bringing snacks & starters, plus a few side dishes. I'm doing the meat - loin chops and moroccan-style spatchcock chickens. And the youngest cub is making dessert: a double strawberry & blackberry pavlova. I bought some lovely baby beetroot. Might roast those as well and serve with a little vinaigrette. Corn on the cob - cooked on the braai, of course. Mmmmm... The possibilities that a full fridge brings. Potato salad? I make deadly one.
