This is the fucking turning point. I've had enough of trying to control the uncontrollable. Booze is fun for awhile, but ultimately it will destroy folk like us, and i can see it would easily destroy me if i give it the chance. Enough wasting my precious time, which flows on to my loved ones. Tonight, i wash my hands of it, and walk away. Simple. (but not easy, and that's okay).

It is, aside from the obvious devastation it causes, an interesting and baffling affliction/disease/whatever we call it.

The grip it can get on us is decieving. It can be very slow and sly in creeping up on us. And my experience is that the grip get's stronger and harder to resist. The insidious nature of addiction is not so scary when you start to understand how our body chemistry works. Still, that knowledge will mean bugger all, if we want to live in a numbed state. And i say no to that.
