Maybe, just maybe they were scared off by the noise.
You have to have a permit in NSW (I used to issue them) to shoot kangas. Can you report it to NPWS or whatever it is in Vic? They do come on as hard as they can but are constrained by legislation, lies and lack of funding.

But so very sadly in all my experience, they just stand there, looking at the shooter, completely innocent and trusting..
That is what really broke my heart when I had to put one down that I had accidentally hit on an outback track in SA. I broke its leg. It just looked at me,with trust and non comprehension in its eyes. It couldn't move, and just stood there looking at me. The last thing it saw was me with tears in my eyes pointing a pistol at its head.
I bawled for an hour afterwards. It will never erase from my memory.

Like when I was a vet nurse and held a beautiful greyhound as he was euthanised because he ran erraticlly on the track.
The last thing that beautiful animal saw was me looking at him with love and compassion and tears.

Shit I hate people.

Morning Undies!

Well, I think my niece has talked me into going to Sydney for my nephews wedding at the end of March. I was thinking that I wouldn't because its going to be a bit posh (I dont do posh :H), and we are a bit broke and its the first week of the school holidays when we will have Mr B's boy. But it will do me good to have a bit of a break around them, and all part of the bigger strategy for finding ways of not getting so totally caught up in the crap that is always associated with boy's visits.

Going to my friend's funeral today - the one that was killed in the ballooning accident here. It will be sad and I've packed an extra hanky.

Thinking of you Reg and Ella. And anyone else having a hard time.

Oh dear!
I'm going to do a favourite little ritual of mine to cast out the negatives of the world for us, Undies.
I can never decide whether this is a good world or an evil world
I suppose we've just got to accept that it's just made up of both, as are we all.

Right well my brain is bleeding from thinking about that now, so instead I shall turn to the growing of potatoes. There are a couple of really good alternatives to the tyres, which don't involve sucking heavy metals into you.
I will work on a succinct description or hopefully photos.

I also had another late night phone call from a friend talking drunken bollocks last night
Do I have the right to get the irrits about it given the amount of drunken gobshite I've talked myself????

This is what I'm doing this year. Noticed some yuge pots at Bunnings yesty for 20 odd big ones. Start off with 15-20 worth of soil in the bottom, plant your seed potatoes, and then hill them, or add more soil and compost as they grow vertically.





How easy would this be? Or even a hanging bag?





Going to try this next year using old left over wire (and who hasn't got some of that chicken folk?) Advantage of this is that you can plant seed taties right on the outer edge and they will grow out the sides....how cool is that?

Love the spuds.....we used to grow them in our last place. I like the bag method, it might suit our current lack of garden.

Off to the gym today, getting back to my old self. Hugs to you Reggie. And Missy, a break in Sydney sounds divine. I'd say go for it, it will be worth the expense.
