Underoos and Mates 2012 January....
Morning all, and g'day Pattie.
Just a quick pop in to say 7 days here and feeling great. No fanfare or fightin' word's, just going about it 'quiet achiever' style. (with no shortage of apostrophe's) Lurking and a reading, and will be back full force down the track.
Happy Survival day to all, enjoy the day, and take care.

Morning Undies
Mr G........I totally get the quiet achieving stance. I think I am on day 10. Had a few niggly moments last night when I saw most people getting ready to celebrate today with al.
Nothing planned here today. We can see the fireworks from our house so no need to travel anywhere. I always seem to spend this holiday without hubby. I had to just remind him that today is Australia day.......I guess everyday just seems the same where he is.
I think it will be 42 degree here today.

I was thinking of going go-kart raceing instead....lots o fun.
Only go along if there's NO chance of you drinking as a result. They have to bring their own grog I reckon, why should you buy the crap. Alternatively, spend the money on a dirty little weekend for you and the missus????

Morning kids.
Happy Straya Day. Love days off.
Gster, good job mate!
Going to decide on some take away and go to a friends for a bit.
There's a break in the rain but the clouds are all still looming.
Ella, I would come over and watch the fireworks if you were a bit closer.
Stay cool Undies, and have a lovely day!

Undies ... I had another 'come-to-cheeses' moment this morning. Just after I posted the Happy Ostraya Day message, I was looking out of the window and saw a bird flying toward me. As it's been pretty hot I've been sleeping with the doors open. So ..... said bird flew straight in through the back door, perched on a beam above my head and when I went to grab the ever-ready camera it took flight again and bounced off the big round window before swooping down and soaring out the door again.
This all happened really really quickly but I am absolutely certain that because of
a. it's size
b. it's colouring
c. it's very minimal flapping of wings
d. it's soundless exit
it was indeed .... tah dah .... a Tawny Frogmouth!
That, my underpanted friends, made for a very happy day. In fact, I'm still squealing quietly. I have no idea why it was still up at that time of morning - I rarely see them because they're nocturnal and hide so well during the day - and I've NEVER had one inside the house.
One of those moments, captured in time. I really don't want to live anywhere else.
