    Underoos and Mates 2012 January....

    Happy New Year everyone!!

We had a quiet-ish one, going to some friends' place approx 80 km away, having been thrashed by a wicked storm just previously.
This couple have 3 kids (actually, all of them are fabulous) & another couple came with 3 kids also....who were all firing on sugar & gut-muck. So by 10 pm all 6 adults were flagging, but all 6 kids were going OFF. occasionally OH & I would glance at each other in horror.
Anyway, we are all fond of board games so fired up & found our second winds (hmmmm) & our fav game is this frenzied one called Catchphrase, where we form teams ( male vs female OF COURSE!!!), & have to describe & act out a word or phrase in a time limit. As an adult game, hilarious challenges popped up like "orgy" & "sex change". The male friend trying hopelessly to describe "orgy" was hysterical.
It was thankfully a quiet night grog wise, & we all retired to our respective fart-sacks.

Next day, came home to 4 frantic dogs & a swoopingly hungry magpie. Then we put out the sofa bed, & watched movies ALL afternoon & evening. Including Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. The title I reckon describes techie.

And I made the most amazing veg dish that sunny would love : roasted honey vege with blue cheese polenta.
    Heavenly.

Ragsy, I absolutely love seeing your photos. Especially the food ones.
Bridge, good on ya for firing up the mower, but really I don't think I would appreciate you as my neighbour even WITHOUT a hangover. What's wrong with QUIET mornings!!!!
All our drop in friends : RC,Cinders,Fluff,Tipps,Ktab,Stirly (will pm you soon) Zenny (likewise), Starters, & all other I might have missed - it's so great for you to come on & wish us all the best. The same goes back to you all!

Missy : poaching eggs in my house has risen to experimenting with egg-poaching cups, but I haven't got the knack just yet. Was far simpler in our scanpan with water!!

Happy, G-bloke, Reggie, Sunny, Saph, CW wherever she is, Kaza whom I hope is lurking a bit & taking care, Mish is going very very well despite huge crappage but she is one strong sandgroper.

Well, just hello. A simple greeting. In that, an acknowledgement of the role you are all playing in my life. I hang on here BECAUSE of you all.

The enormity of a changing year sends me a bit melancholy, reflecting on stuff. From natural disasters & people dying to personal issues which have not yet been resolved.

But another year also to start afresh, get some changes happening. Yeah. Right.

One thing I'm going to try & do is organise to come over east, & meet some of you. Now I know a few are not into group meet ups, but I will do a coffee roster, spend a few days in Sinny & a few in Melb, hopefully, if I can scrape up the cash. I actually just want to get away by myself anyway. So be prepared, Reg, G-bloke, Bridge, Ragsy, Tawns if i can drag her into the big smoke at all. It might still be a pipe dream but a Chinese proverb I read once said "those who do not dream are lost".

Have a great day everyone. Mundane chores await me.

Excellent reportage, Beags! Must admit - was a tad worried about you after hearing about some of the WA farmers losing their entire crop to the storm/rains.

It's 40C again up here. I don't have an eggnishner.

:thanks: for the lovely pictures Tawny & Raggsy

I'm going to try and do my bit over on the Army Thread as well. There's an exhibition on in Stellenbosch which I think you'll like, Froglet. Mostly sculptures, they are all outdoors and scattered all over town. You do a walking tour to take it all in. If the weather clears, I might just give it a go.

            Great to see you, Beags!

:hallo: Wavage at the rest of the Undies and fellow Internationalists.

I saw 'deceased' and got a bit of a fright....blooming heck.
We have a cattle dog with a very sore left rear flank here tonight. Just made the mistake of slapping her good heartedly on the bum (as we do every night) Cannot STAND the sound of a yelping dog.

Hi and bye Bridget. Hope the doggie's feeling better soon. I hate it when the critters are hurting. Don't like it one bit.

Just a quick fly-by from me. Off to run some errands. Hope you all have a lovely evening and peaceful dreams when it's time for the Sleep Fairy to visit.
