Ella, I hope today is better than yesterday. And yes, I have heard a number of rude things said about my appearance since I got pregnant. I just say the rude things in my head and then turn my other cheek to walk away.

Slept 10 hours last night, sort of. No plans today, but think I might go for a 5km walk as exercise has been a bit non existent in my world. The midwife told me no doing anything for a couple a weeks since I was having some issues. Anyways, might as well get back on the horse slowly.

      Be back later!

Hey there Sunni. Take good care of yourself and don't push too hard. Oh yeah, get on here and post more often. BTW, SOL means Sunshines On Line :l

            Hiya, Techie.

Are you feeling better? Pneumonia sucks!!

BBBJ, what did you mean by SOL? I am getting curious, myself.

It is morning for you antipodeans, is it not?

              Hiya Cindi - *** waving ***

I believe BBBJ meant 'shit on the liver (somewhat grumpy).

For most of us on the east coast it's 12.43pm lunchtime, except for the Queensland kids where it's 11.43am. Beags, Ella, Mish are on the west coast where it's 9.43am.

                Hi, back, Tawny.

So, Australia has 4 time zones? Wow. Continental US has four times zones, too. Australia just doesn't seem that big from East to West when viewed on the globe.

Going to Google Maps and check this out. Get to learn something new today.

Interesting phrase, SOL, meaning grumpy. I think I will tuck that one away for future use.

                  Here ya go, Cindi,

From the most eastern point of Australia, Cape Byron in New South Wales, to the most western point of Australia, Steep Point in Western Australia, is a distance of 4100 kilometres (2547miles).

From the most northerly point in Australia, the tip of Cape York in Queensland, to the southernmost point of the Australian mainland, Wilson's Promontory in Victoria, is 3180 km (1975miles). This does not include the state of Tasmania, a large island off the southern coast of Australia.

Hmm, Never really thought about this before, but since the world is spherical and Australia is closer to the "bottom" of the sphere than the US, the tzs would be narrower there.

You would think a math major would have thought of that before, especially someone who used to write ballistic algorithms using geographical data to aim rockets and missiles from and to anywhere on earth. (Dead sea was always a bit tricky, as is the Arctic and Antarctic regions.)

                    Sometimes I embarrass myself.

                      Okay, ignore last post.

Australia is just slightly smaller East to West than continental US.

                      US - 2680 miles
                      Australia - 2485 miles

I never realized how large a land mass Australia is.

morning undies, well half way thru the day for the rest of youse....hello to techie & cinders.
I def have SOL as the stooopid mower wouldn't start. As usual.
The bright red Husqvarna that, ever since we happened to come by it 2nd hand, has given me right royal SOL whenever I attempt to mow down the weed patch. We don't have grass, we had weeds. Lots of 'em.

                        Fuel in - check.
                        Jumper leads attached - check.
                        ....to correct terminals - check.
My meat wagon starts up as usual.....

And.....no turn over. Stood cocked in a strange twister-like possie for waaay too long so cracked more SOL & pissed it off. No doubt OH will blame me for somehow "breaking" it.
                        Frickin machines.

Ellaq, sorry you are feeling so sick......
Have you tried some echinacea - get this stuff called Triplex - it is like liquid drain cleaner but by heck it cleans up any problems ..... I can send you up some if you like...?

Ragsy, I am small enough to be packed into your suitcase next time you go anywhere.
                        Just sayin'.

The only happy things around here atm are Rosie & her magpie mate. The most lovely sound in the world is surely a magpie carrolling outside your window!

Harvest resumes today, husband in better mood but FIL getting grumpy as he gets more tired....ffs he's nearly 70....wtf is he still wanting to do this for?!!!

Making feta & leek quiche for lunch. And the ceviche I made was very interesting - tart but fresh....will defo make it again! recipe anyone?

Here's an interesting overlay. Shows we're not much smaller than you guys but only have a population of about 22mill. That's prolly why we all seem to know each other. LOL

Australian maps overlay provides idea of how vast this country is.

Thanks for the geography lesson. One of my weakest areas and I am working to correct that.

I am SOL, myself, tonight due to back pain. Took a pill so getting very sleepy.

Looking forward to the epidural next week to address the pain but need to figure out how to do the physical therapy to help correct the bulging disk while dealing with my elderly folks down in Florida.

I hope all "down under" have a wonderful day.

                            Nighters,

Cindi, you are never an embarassment. Way to smart for that. Ballistic algorithms? I had to check that I spelled that correctly! Or is it "spelt" , but that's an ancient form of wheat now popular again today,......hmm. I liked math & physics in high school & if I didn't become a vet would have prob gone to something more science based.
