Morning Tawny!

We've had crap weather here too. Most of the time I was on holiday it was wet and cold. Now that I am back at work it is much nicer of course!!

BTW - what did you tie your chops together with??? More importantly - why?? :H:H

Feeling a little knocked about by life at the mo ..... I realised yesterday that one of the people who died in the ballooning accident here on Sunday was a woman who was one of my closest friends through school. We hadn't seen much of each other for quite some time, but it has really affected me. In thinking about why, I think it is because I've been thinking a lot about turning 50 later this year ...... and in a completely random event, somebody who I have a history with wont ever make it to that age. It is another argument for making some of the radical changes in my life that I have been contemplating and pondering - because another equally random event could take away the choices that I have today.

Sorry if that is all a bit morbid undies - I'm still feeling quite upset, but actually I'm feeling like this is a message about seizing every opportunity that comes along to live life to the fullest.

It's not morbid at all when you see it like that.
I had a friend die late last year. She was young too. I certainly can't bring her back, so all I can do is try to draw something from it. One of the things we concluded was that she had 'taken her hands off the wheel' in terms of her health. Considering how many people's hearts she broke by passing, I've been thinking that maybe it's actually selfish not to look after yourself. Sounds a very odd thing to say, but when you think of the people who love and depend on you....it sort of slapped me in the head really.
Anyway, I've still got a way to go with this process, but do know that I want to be a feisty, spirited, healthy old lady, not a miserable old, walking stick-wielding, pain in the arse.

I used to hang out at the Melbourne Valhalla cinema when it was in Richmond when i was a lad. It was yer cutting edge arthaus style fillum joint. I was the young bloke in the foyer with an unplugged in electric guitar around me neck. I could also often be found at the 'Twins' souvlaki joint in Lygon st. Carlton with same accoutrements.
