Theres some sad stuff happening out there, so in the interest of being flippant I shall thow my tiara into the ring and have a whinge....Day 3 with FIL and the rot begins...

Woke up and said he couldnt hear the rain on the roof coz the traffic noise is too loud....mmm...ok

After a 30 minute inspection of the DVD cupboard which resulted in him pulling out nearly each and every one - FFS what if we had porn in there?? - he proclaims "lot of money in there"....

Has told eldest locust he will not be employable as his hair is too long.....which we've been giggling about for the last half hour coz 1.hes still at school 2. he has a part time job and 3. its the last week of school holidays and I let them grow their hair and they get it chopped before they go back to school...

Keeps on sticking his head into our bedroom - where I've set up the office for the now - and saying "I guess your reallllly busy in there"

I dont know what to answer....I just smile and do the nodding idiot face....thank dog I did some exercise today...

OMG Happy - I can hear his voice, I can tell what he looks like, I know what clothes he is wearing, and I can even probably tell you what his mannerisms are :H:H. He sounds just like the blokes on my father's side of the family! Does he have pockets in his trousers/shorts that he shoves his hands into when he is feeling a little cross and making pronouncements like "lot of money in there...."?????

I say, Undies ... here are my thoughts on the spammers. We seem to have a shit-load of them over the past few days but I really don't think there's any point in replying to their posts. It just increases the chances of someone clicking onto their link, usually embedded in their signature, and that's the way they make money. I don't believe they actually sit there waiting for any replies they may get. They're not here for form meaningful friendships.

So my approach is to report the posts and wait for the Mods to do their thing. This can sometimes take 24-hrs. If you respond to them there'll be a heap of posts hanging in the ether which won't make sense once the spammers have been splatted. Make sense? i.e. the sequence of events:

Nice post, followed by
Spammer post, followed by
"Piss off doodyhead" post

Once the spammer is removed ... who are you calling a doodyhead, doodyhead?

oh, I better go and have a little recline ... the brain-strain is taxing me ...

Now see, that's where the old school spammers like Ron01 were different. I had many a p.m. exchange with Ron over the merits of yer venetian blinds over yer hessian style, to yer convoluted, colour co-ordination, would i need curtains? etc....Ron was always happy to spend time explaining shipping costs and post office box addresses. hehe, i remember once the conversation even turned to rugby late one evening, hehe. Ron was that kind of guy. He had that personal touch. I never received those blinds sure, but i made a friend. These newcomers have got no class, no finesse, no respect, and hence i bet, no sales.
