Rags, when I see you in March, we should make a plan for the next Undies cook book! I have lots of thoughts about it :H
My friend's funeral today was a three hanky affair ........ very moving, very hilarious, very sad and very uplifting. Her family have always been very good with dealing with emotions and that was evident in the way that the funeral was conducted. As part of an event that has also been part of a national media story, it was also very respectful and private. And a huge celebration of the vivacious, dynamic, energetic and loving woman that she was.
I have decided that I am starting 2012 three weeks later than everyone else! The last couple of weeks haven't been that shit-hot, so my new New Years Day is on Sunday 22nd!!

I'm quite interested as in NZ we have yams (little red and yelow things which we used to call "grandfather's thumbs" when we were little) and kumara (sweet potato) which can be red, orange or yellow but much bigger. However ,in the Pacific, "yam" sometimes refers to cassava (big ugly stodgy root vegetable, but delectable when cooked wth coconut cream in banana leaves!!)
You have had answers from Australia about land and water use. Here it is just that where I live is very hilly so we have to terrace our land and make sure to avoid subsidinse. I have a 5-year project going but in the mean time I have lots of planters and planter boxes.
