Morning

Techni - hope you don't have to wait too long for your results.

It is hot and getting hotter here. I nearly died when I saw the forecast..........and next weekend looks like hell on earth. Heres hoping they got it all wrong.

Booked my flights to Ireland. So goals are to lose weight so I can eat it all back whilst there. And staying sober is a massive part of that. No point in putting so much work in and having one blowout and looking like a pufferfish.

Sorry for my absence but GUESS WHAT????? THEY'RE BAAAAAAAAACK!

AT 8.13 this morning:



So, Bridge ... your dream made them come back. Raggsy was right - they prolly just got scared and ran away for a few days. Because I've never been able to count exact numbers in the mob, I don't know how many got got - just hope he was a crappy shot. There's just a few in the pic, there were probably another twelve out of frame. I'm so bloody happy and will now resume trying to get closer with camera and tripod to get some rooly, rooly good shots.

Apart from that, I've been engaged in major project. Remember the dry rot floorboard episode? Well, had the flooring re-done but all bedroom furniture has been sitting in dining room and lounge waiting for a bit of muscle to help me put it back. Bit of muscle (as in Mellors) hasn't been back this year due to heath reasons - so I cracked the darks and dragged all the stuff back on my own. QS bed with futon, mahogany dresser, dressing table, wardrobe - fusk. BUT ... here's the thing ... even if you can only move stuff an inch at a time ... eventually you'll get there (providing you keep orf the fusking 'puter).

So the bedroom is back together but alas alack ... i've smashed a pane in the window. So, needed to study the "Anatomy of a Sash Window". Thought I could just reglaze in situ but Mrs. Google says No. Have to pull it apart. Which I did! Will try to get new glass tomorrow - remember ... measure and detract 1/8". Dog, I throb learning new stuff.

Here's the window - bottom left pane, thank dog it's the plain glass bit - prior to getting it out.



So that's what I've been doing ... so,

Rags - def. Tiger Lily - you're very lucky to have them there and I really like mixing exotics with native stuff. There's room for all, providing we're compatible.

Techie - health update, please. As Bridge says - if you want to meet some nurses, why not go on-line ...Desperately.seeking.matron.com

Ella - stay cool, however you can.

Arvo Undies and Internationalist....productive day which I'm about to wrap up with a quick trip to a posh nursery to ogle stuff I wont buy but must look at...all locusts now home and house is back to normal - almost! On that front have had long discussion with Mr Happs and he is prepared to have "the chat" with his dad about forthcoming visits or should I say non forthcoming visits...will see what eventuates anyway....had a little MWO intervention which helped on the rounds of the discussion front for which I am grateful...it is definitely "inch at a time" but a must for us to stop this circle of crappage...

Wow better press post before I run out of wind myself...

Most pleasant afternoon spent on a deck looking out at superb views with lots of bird and other wildlife and wetlands. My mate is a lover of the natural world, thank Dog. What a treat.

I had a wild pig and a fox on the front paddock at Wingello yesterday.
And deer tramping up the easement next to my place. They have become a real environmental problem.

Isn't it an internal conflict?
They are all beautiful animals, but just need to 'go' for the sake of so many other interdependent systems. Heartbreaking really.

What a wonderful post from Reggie. That brought a smile to my face. In other news, the Undie Recipe book. I made Sunny's Eggplant Tomato Casserole last night. I took a bit of liberty with it. I added ground lamb, (mince to you folk), a tad more garlic, and it was wonderful.

Yesterday I went to Alice Copperstown. It is a sports bar owned by Alice Cooper. Nothing remarkable food wise but a fun place. I met a former business associate that gave me a corporate pass to the Phoenix Open golf tournament. Looking forward to seeing many former business partners and clients.
