Getting together with friends on Saturday. One of them wanted a dinner date...but, that's a bad time for me, still. I called her and told her that right now, breakfast works best for me. Gave her all the gory details. Said I'm newly sober and dinner at nice restaurants still call out for wine to me. She completely understood, which was good. It's hard to "come out" to people this way. :sigh:

Doo, you and everyone is welcome on this Journey Thread. You'll meet some of the dearest people on the planet here, and never be judged or shown anything but love, support and encouragement.

Well, everyone, the love and prayers you've been sending my way have worked and today I actually found the energy to get dressed for the first time since Saturday. Still haven't managed a shower yet, but thanks to aircon, I'm not too ferral yet. I had a lovely chat with Fen earlier. Poor Fen, having to look at my filthy, lank hair (still in desperate need of a cut!

Fen, I have a sliding backwards story, too. When I lived in the hills here, we had a very steep gravel driveway, and one day I was about a third of the way up when the car started sliding backwards. Just at the end of the driveway was a very steep slope. My car was only a few months old and I had Brooke in the car (in her baby seat), and didn't want to go over the edge and possibly roll it. I applied the brake so hard and stopped about a foot from the edge, heart racing and adrenalin pumping. I'd bent the brake pedal I applied it so hard. When I took it to the dealer he said it just wasn't possible for someone my size and weight to have bent the pedal like that. It would have taken a very strong man to have done as much damage as that. He simply thought I was lying. It took me a long time to convince him that I was in so much fear for my child that I'd found super human strength to stop my car before it went over. Pftt, some men can be so think!
Rog, sounds like you had a reall shocker of a day. I hope everything's worked itself out for you and today's full of blue skies and gentle breezes for you today.
Thanks again for all the support and love again. I can go into one of my 'declines' for several weeks, but you've all helped me out of it in five days, so my love and hugs for all the love and hugs, each and everyone.

ok here I go again day one, why am I so weak, I panicked a bit yesterday and drank a bottle of wine and some beer yugh!!! I talked to my consultant and everything I am experiencing with my eyes is to be expected so I can relax and concentrate on getting well, going to start meditating today again and have the all clear to do yoga again so today is the day . Yesterday was a bad day, my 17 year old went back to school and I prob won't see him for a few weeks, my poor daughter was stranded in Algiers due to air strike and I had to move Christmas tree out...needles everywhere, anyway hope you all have a great day, love and hugs Twitch xxx

Good Morning everyone - morning Bird - not exactly X post is it - LOL. Twitch - I am stopping today - but did sort of make a start yesterday - I had a drink in the afternoon - not my usual, and then that was it - my last one! I was amazed that I slept last night, but I did. And feel good going into today. I am using supps and making sure I am eating properly and also drinking loads of water.
doo-doo - welcome - please post - we love to have anyone join in our crazy family - tell us about yourself if you want to.....

Where is everyone else? Very quiet here this morning..... hope to see some folk around soon...

Hi!

Still did not get those holiday decorations down yet. Hopefully today. I'm concerned about Rog, you all know him longer, maybe someone can check on him? He sounded very disheartened in his last post. My attic is on the third floor and it is VERY COLD here in NY today, so putting those decorations away is going to be quite a job, not to mention, I once fell through the floor into my bedroom closet. :H yep. Just like American L Christmas episode with Chevy Chase!:H. Well off to begin my day. Toddles everyone! :hG

Morning Jan and Fan - Jan - sorry you are sick - I don't think I have ever had strep! And cub shouldn't have any medicine left if it is antibiotics!! he is supposed to finish them ALL. Fen - that is nice of you to make some soup for her....
