This not sleeping is getting monotonous. And Hubs will be home in a few. Guess I'll try for another nap. Guess since I'm here alone I should have closed some doors!
So good to see everyone posting, but WHERE is Vicki?? Just not like her to be away so long.
Have a busy day planned, and Lord only knows what Hubs schedule will be. He's due home about 8 or so, bring breakfast (from the greasy spoon he loves).
G, I have relatives in Mass, NH, and Maine, so my 'accent' has been a running joke all my life. I finally told them it depended on where we were standing WHO had the accent! :H When I'm tired, my Southerness becomes more pronounced. Sun told me once she has to listen very carefully to understand me, and her with that beautiful English sound.
Going to try and sleep a minute. Up since about 2, and have too much to do to nap later. See ya'll later.

We have had snow here - not a lot but Ben absolutely LOVES it. He is like a child - goes galloping around and he is just so happy when it snows! Chases daisy and she runs up on the step which is obviously their 'safe place'. They play indoors - I wish I could understand why Daisy won't play outside with him - way more room to run around! But she just runs up on the step. Any ideas anyone?

Nay Nay, I suggest Cardinal Friccasee, with a side of Squirrel ala Grits. I can supply the squirrel! Yesterday, since the door was open to the screened porch, I guess Miss Sully discovered the squirrell hatch and came strolling past me as I was load clothes in the washer. Unconcerned, like 'no big deal i'm in the house'!
Glad Ben is enjoying the snow, Sun. Maybe Daisy has just not turned loose of her 'security steps' yet. She's still new to everything, and you don't know what her experiences were in the past when and IF she was out of doors. Maybe you could get outside, interest her in a fetch game, offer little treats to entice her. And again, it may just take time. Glad too to hear they're playing together when inside. Ben sounds like a real character. I'm still bummed about Ricky the Rottie, but my new child is out there somewhere.
With Hubs gone last night, TMB slept next to my bed, and it was her snoring and acting out in her dreams that woke me. She runs, whimpers, barks, until she wakes herself up.
Bird glad he's coming for the timpanis. I know from what you've told us your space is at a premium, so know you'll be glad to get them gone.
G, enjoy your work. Have to have a business chat with my resident grump when he gets up. Joy. NOT!! He has a pat manner of discussing any projects I bring up: first, all the negatives, and the reasons it can't be done. So, if he goes on too long, I just say 'forget it' and walk away. Before long, he comes back with 'OK, if we DID do that, how would we do it?' Then I show him all my outlines for accomplishing it, and he says 'OK, but you have to handle it all', and of course, I already have. So predictible you can put it on your calendar how his mind works. He's not NEARLY as negative as his parents, who predict certain doom and gloom with every breath and have been waiting for Armageddon since the 1920's, but some of it had to rub off on him, I guess.
Mish, any new word yet. Have you seen you grands, or is that today?
T, enjoy your work day. Tough being a working man every day, but not as bad as sitting and waiting for the phone to ring, is it?
Tony, glad things are looking up for you too. And as far as getting the kids out of the house, forget it. They may leave, but they'll come back and bring strangers you have no control over with them. :H
Grateful, how's work going? Any end in sight?
Swanny, how bout pouring me a nice cuppa soothing herbal tea, with a swirl of cinnamon and honey? So nice to have our own beverage barista on the taco truck.
Have to get moving again. Slept about an hour this morning till my dog alarm went off when Hubs got home. He brought me a tenderloin biscuit and cheese grits, so it was nice to wake up to. Sun, I try to only have decaffeinated drinks after lunch. If I don't, I'm so tired I drop right off to sleep but wake in a few hours.
Fen, you're sounding more like you old self the further we get from the holidays. I'm so sorry they seem to have such an effect on you, but you have the power not to let people make you feel bad about yourself, friend. No matter what, come here for hugs and kisses as needed.

Ruby - your hubs sounds so much like mine, it is scary! The negatives and a No usually come first - then after he has thought about it, he comes around. But he is negative!! Then comes round but I handle it!!! And Ruby - OLD lady - You LEAVE Jans Bird alone too!!!!!! And the squirrels !!!! Right now, my bird feeder has four red cardinals (male) 3 females, some juncos, a few sparrows and two squirrels all happily munching away - it is bitter outside - the temp is 19 but the wind chill is about 12. I need to keep them fed in this weather. And them BEING the food is NOT an option!!!!

LOL Grateful - trust Biz to have a GPS tracker on (his) your phone!! Why don't you feel well? Are you eating properly? Have you had your mucky drink? Hi, Sunny. My tummy doesn't feel well.....it's probably all the stress of work plus the meeting last night about financial aid for college was VERY depressing....although, there is a stomach bug going around my area. I can't go for a walk with the dog because I am at work dreaming of when I can leave.

I usually have my mucky drink around 11....can't eat anything before then, but I did bring it.

Poor Grateful! Tell Biz he may have GPS, but he'll never make it to the cabin. Remember it's got it's own little dead zone. Remind him too that wild territory there, not for the faint of heart to ramble around without a passport!! Wish you could be here too. Soon, though. We've got to have more time next time, though! And I know how expensive college was 20 years ago when Tip went, but she's a hard worker and had a practically full-time job after school/classes from the time she was 15. She paid for her own master's because she was married by then, and is STILL paying off student loans. We had SOME grants, etc., because of her 4.0 high school average and good grades in college, a 3.5, but we made too much money and she had no minority card to pull (even though Hub's and my g'grandmothers were Native American), so we were left with most of the bills. $100 textbooks every few months adds up quickly! When I hear about illegal aliens wanting free tuition at our colleges, my blood boils!! :soapbox:
Sunny it's almost 60 here, but windy, and the temps are supposed to drop drastically at night for the next few days. Not too cold during the days, though. I may get some gardening in, yet.
Got a phone call a few minutes ago to take a political poll, and I participate if I'm not to busy. After I answered the mechanical questions, somebody came on and told me I'd won an all expense paid cruise. All they needed was a credit card number!! :youwish:
Busy now repotting my staghorn ferns. Love those things, got about 6 of them for $1 apiece, I guess because the clerk rang them up wrong or something. I didn't question it, though (I know, bad me). Hubs went in to a convenience store once and bought a 12 pack of beer. The clerk rang it up for about 1/2 the correct price, and he told her. She got mad and argued with him till he just gave up. Got my ferns at Lowes and since I spend a small fortune there each year, don't feel to bad about it.
Back to getting my hands dirty again!
