We're expecting some rain again, Fen, but it will be 25F tonight, so could actually see a flurry or two. I just looked at country-wide radar map, and there sure is a lot of blue and pink on there (snow and ice). All green around me. It's the crazy temperature swings in the south that lead to tornadoes, though. Enjoy your snow!! Hope Sun is getting some more for Ben. :H

Glad that you will be getting some snow Fen - you will enjoy getting out on your skis! We have snow flurries right now and Ben loves it! It is bitterly cold though - the wind just cuts right through you. Time to quit smoking - LOL - or go in the shed! Time to get ready for work - have to get my food ready.

Hey folks--sorry I have been out of pocket-- I had that stomach bug and it was horrid-- did not even have time to enjoy the Tide's 14th national championship really because it hit about 2 hours after the game. This is the first day I actually ate something-- mine had very bad headaches with it-- those may have been worse than the vomiting-- but at least I did not screw up my diet (hee)! I am still pretty weak though but this palce may fall apart if I don't get a move on-- hubs is a single tasker-- he can feed our boy and take him to school but bathing, homework, sports-- well not so much! Trying to get organized now. Also trying to think of a way not to go into the karate studio because I will be confronted by the crazy mom who has the son who is the thief-- and who always asks if he can come play-- of course I know this is silly since I will eventually see her and have to just say no to the kid coming over. And I know this is silly but the lady is like 5 feet tall and by her own admission 205 pounds and always refers to her losing weight as "people like us" need to lose or it is hard to lose for "people like us". Okay-- I am not only not 5 feet tall (I am 5'7") I also do not weigh 205 pounds-- not even close and I never talked with her about it being hard to lse weight-- I am sure it would not be hard if I worked at it like a normal person and not a lazy ass. She wrote me a note today about some crazy hcg diet (it may not be crazy but the 500 cal a day you cna eat is insane to me) telling me it is a good diet for "people like us" and that we could discuss it in person --aaarggh-- so I am going to go to Kroger during the class and come in at the end of it since I know this dumb diet and her kid will be the topic of conversation for today!

ATL, good to see you but sorry you've been sick, too. My advice for that crazy woman is that she's in denial about how big she really is, and just wants you in her 'club'.Don't waste your time and breath on her or her child. I know that sounds mean, but stealing by someone you allowed in your home is a real personal invasion. I know from experience. Besides my medication theft, friends of my children and grands have stolen from me, and rather than put my kids in an uncomfortable situation, I just didn't allow them in my home anymore. I guarantee you're not the only one he's done this to. He doesn't get invited many places, does he? There's a reason, and you can guess it.
Your husband needs to learn how to do those things, or hire someone to come in to share the responsibilities when your sick or just plain tired. It would be different if you couldn't afford it, but just like his hockey time, you need yours too. You're probably like me and don't like giving up anything, having someone in your house doing things, but it might just really be worth it! JMHO, of course. Good to see you back, anyway.

Hey, my dear, sweet family! How is everyone doing? I can't tell you how much I've missed all of you! I am talking into my microphone and it is typing for me! This thing is truly amazing! Well, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! With each new year brings new challenges, new changes and new commitments for us all! My health has been an ongoing challenge. I have begun studying the Bible regularly and once again I am committed to this site and not drinking, so I've got my 3 c's covered. I know some of you are experiencing snow and bitter cold, so I hope you all stay warm and don't get sick! Our temperature is 65 in the days and 40 in the nights, We were out of town for five days for Christmas with my family then we had Paul's family come here for five days and after that, I was completely exhausted! I had a bad fall one night when I was awakened by the pain in my hands and went to the bathroom to run hot water over them. I did not realize I was having an insulin reaction and I fell, spraining my ankle on one leg and my knee on the other and have not been able to put any weight on either leg for a week. I'm still having therapy twice a week on my legs now. I guess there's no complete cure for the pain in my hands. It is something I just have to deal with. I am looking forward to reading back and catching up with all of you and I will try to write as often as I can. I pray this new year brings many blessings of good health, prosperity peace and joy to each and every one of us. I love you all. Love, Vicki

ATL, wow. So sorry about your stomach bug! Sounds like you were on the "flu" diet. Yuck! I had the worst stomach bug of my life about four years ago. As a result, I have an awful gag reflex today...getting an x-ray at the dentist's office is fraught with peril for me. I'm glad you're feeling better.

What does Karate kid steal? I'm curious. Is he the same age as your son? Have you told his mother? If not, let her know. That's the only way he'll learn that it's bad behavior. My sister stole some bulk candy from the A&P when we were little...and my mom marched her right back to the store! She had to confess to an assistant manager, who informed her she wouldn't have to go to jail...this time! Cured her immediately! :H

I had the strangest thing happen today....for about thirty minutes I felt like I couldn;t breathe.....I sat here like a fish gasping for breath....my staff convinced me it was anxiety and not a heart attack...but I was really scared for a few....I am fine now....weird...

I'm here alone, FINALLY. His grouchiness got up at 4:30, I spoon fed him so he couldn't talk, and he's off to work. I KNOW it's hard on him, since it's cold, he has to stand over and watch the work being done for 12 hours. But I told him not to take his frustations out on the cook!!
I've been worried about Guy for a while, too. He was so regular about posting. Guy, if you are reading, come back no matter what, OK? Support is so important in beating this thing.
Fen I'd never made that connection, but after I had the REAL flu that killed several people I knew years back, I've dreaded dental appointments. When they put that goo in my mouth to make a mold, or touch the back of my throat, it's all I can do not to start barfing!! Lovely image, I know. I NEVER used to throw up.
I've got to start calling neighbors. We have a leash law in this county, but someone on our short little road has a big beautiful Huskie they let run loose. I've paid a fortune to keep my dogs up and safe, but this dog is running around outside my fence, chasing Ninny, and the cats. TMB wasn't outside when I saw the interloper, but Hubs saw it a few days ago too. Thank goodness it hasn't gotten through Ninny's fencing. Gotta pump up my BB gun!! Really don't want to call animal control if I can find the owner and they cooperate. Why do some people think they don't have to play by the same rules as others? TMB is outside a lot, she has her own couch on the porch and loves it. When she wants to leave the porch, she sticks her paw through the squirrel hole and pulls the door open.

Fen--I actually confronted the kid and shamed him! He was trying to steal spare change-- that I had already said he could not have!! He has asked Mark for money too and is a greedy little bastard-- he tried to take Luke's tokens at Monkey Joes. His mom think he hung the moon and is perfect so I don't think it would go very far. Everyone knows he is a hellion and he gets invited to bday parties but never on playdates-- no one can stand to have him one on one! I figured she would not believe her precious would do anything bad so I did not even bother with her. He knows I have his number now. And luke also realizes he lies as well so..hopefully no more of that. The mom is just controlled by the husband-- did not get married until over 40 and then had first kid at 45 second at 48-- she has no friends though I think she is a sweet person at heart but it is hard to deal with some of her awkward comments. At any rate-- the flu diet was good for teh weight-- but now must get back to teh gym-- I have been sleeping better with the exercise and I am not even doing much but compared to being slightly comatose I am.

It is freezing out there-- the wind is wild. mark is having beers with a client after work so I need to get Luke set up with dinner.
