Mama Bear, are you around today? I have some complaints about the security at this apartment complex! Someone broke into my apartment and left acorn shells all over the floor! They also got into my computer and downloaded skwerl porn! Whomever it was also stole my d@mn weave!

Additionally, I refuse to pay this month's rent (which I gambled away playing dice with my peeps by the dumpster two weeks ago) until certain things are addressed here. I want my apartment professionally cleaned, and I would like a new computer. Also, somebody's d@mn weave has been sitting down by the pool drain for two weeks! My neighbor Mish reported that a herd of wild dingoes has been roving around the premises as well.

Oh MY! Oh MY! Oh MY! I actually slept late after waking at 4, then deciding to 'nap' at 6. Woke at 10:15. I've burned so much daylight, yuck.
Fen, think I drove through your apartment complex where you stay recently. Didn't know you live so close. I think you'll like the FL weather this weekend regardless. If nothing changes it will be sunny and warm. But I will say nothing seems colder than a chilly, windy, beach in FL winter.I was wondering about Tampa, too. The beach is nearby, and they have great attractions. I prefer the Gulf side of FL myself.
Don't know when I'm leaving yet. Was hoping for Wednesday, but that looks remote now. Too much to do now that I've dreamed away the day. Hubs arthritis is acting up, so naturally he's nearly an invalid. Such a titty baby, God Bless him.
Bird, of course you took in the lunch box.You're a good mommy. Almost made me cry thinking about her getting her new treasure ready and forgetting it. I once chased down the cheerleaders bus to camp for miles, to give my daughter her water bottle. Really pissed off the bus driver, but he warn't my kid! Glad it all worked out.
MB is away for a few days, ya'll remember. She'll be back Thursday.

Sun, gosh, it's only January! That sounds like our weather from late February til June here. We don't have a basement here, and one night I was sitting on the front porch while Hubs and Tip were upstairs sleeping, and thought how loud the trucks were then about a 1/4 mile away on the highway. Later learned it was a tornado that took out a lot of nearby houses and eventually did a lot of damage. And I didn't even wake my loved ones! We DO have basement at the cabin, though, and took cover there once with the girls during a hailstorm while a tornado skipped over us. You just can't be prepared for one of those suckers during the night.How did your dogs do?

Yes, the story I told you about the kid and grenade really stunned Tip's family. The boy comes from a great family, so how could no one know he was playing with explosives? Kids, or really all ages, do some strange things.

Georgie, I'm SO sorry about your friend, missing the memorial, and how you feel. But PLEASE don't run yourself down. It doesn't help anything, and I'm sure it's not nearly as bad as you think. Instead of regret and guilt, make a plan for this just like you do with AL. I was on a losing streak till the holidays, but now I'm ALWAYS hungry. I have lots of swings like that, so know your body, and get moving. Excercise, even just walking, helps so many things. :hug:

I bet Coco knows some great beaches. Like I said, I LOVE the Gulf, especially the less touristy ones. And Coco, is the zoo in Tampa still great? And how far away is Silver Springs. That is an ageless Florida icon. Fen, you've visited so many, so in case an personal invitation is holding you up, you, or you and Mrs., or you and Mrs. and cats in cages, are always welcome. Relatively speaking, since the size of this country is so vast many other countries (not Australians!!) underestimate the driving distances. But we've been to Orlando often, also Tampa, Miami, East Coast, up that coast of Georgia. Love visiting, but I'm a mountain girl (do NOT laugh, Sun, else I'll plant spikes under your mattress). Admit I don't much like inland FL, anymore than I like S. GA, but they are places others live in and love, as it should be. I'm happy in my 250 mile radius of the world.
Oh, and if you go east, look for Hwy 1 (I think), the coastal highway, the historic route the rich took took to south FL in the last century, is wonderful. Hubs and I did that from Tampa (on work) a few years ago. Don't miss St Augustine. The cemetary and the Fort are very compelling.
