Hi Macks, I have discovered tea...used to think tea was tea, if you know what I mean, but no, there are so many different flavours and strengths out there....also, last year I treated myself to one of those juicing machines, fantastic, you can juice just about anything, apart from old boots...you have to boil those..ha ha..have to stay away from fizzy drinks, they give me terrible heartburn, probably as a result of all that wine I used to drink...Getting back to the juicer, a great one is..carrot,celery and two golden delicious apples...mmmm lovely..

BTW..great to see you back...love to Lisa and the children

              Hey Macks!

I read in a book today (Seven Pillars of Health) that if you drink regular soda drinks, you up your chance of obesity by about 34%. If you drink diet soda (coke) you will up your chance of obesity by over 50%.
The only sweetener the guy that wrote the book ( Dr. Colbert..I think)likes is stevia. I bought some today. It was over $8.00 a box! Yikes! Of course that is cheaper than wine or any kind of booze!
OK...I guess that bring me back to plain water or maybe some of those teas everybody likes! I do drink the "Bedtime" tea. I think it helps me go to sleep.
I also like Buffalo Rock Ginger Ale. It is stronger than Canada Dry.

Okay I love soda and ginger ale. I will have to look for Buffalo Rock Ginger Ale in my area. I do love Diet Canada Dry though. I need to look for things to cut my cravings for carbs. I am eating Kashi products and looking for healthier things to snack on. For lunch the Amy's spinach/feta burrito type deal is delish. It has lots of vitamins and is made from organic stuff. It kept me going after lunch. My snack was plain almonds and some craisins and I didn't feel like I was starving until a half an hour ago (8:45 P.M.). Okay, thanks for the tip.

You can buy a bottle of Stevia drops for about $14.00, and it lasts longer than the packets. I don't believe that diet soda ups your chances of obesity if you are realistic about the rest of your diet! Of course if you are drinking a diet soda while pigging out on everything else, well........

I like the Kashi rosemary chicken and sweet and sour chicken. . I've only found BR ginger ale in cans and not diet.
I've seen the Amy's organic food and will try the burrito soon.
Where do you find the stevia drops Kathy? Health food store? I'm going to try it for the first time tonight in my tea.
I agree on the diet drink and Big mac thinking. Doesn't work...does it?
                    Thanks for the info guys!
                    Good to have everybody back!

I went on a Perrier kick and someone asked me if I was trying to "bring back the 80's"...thought that was funny.

I like Fuze Slenderize in the a.m. instead of coffee. No sugar but it has some energy enhancers that are supposed to rev your metabolism.

I lost a lot of weight when I began MWO but I have slipped (back to my old ways) and I'm here looking to get back on track and lose some more.

I love good old fashioned home-made lemonade. It does have lots of sugar in it but personally I like it really tart with less or alternative sweetner, it cleanses the taste-buds, gets lots Vit C into you and the sharp taste is a kick too. Also I find actaully getting up and making something takes my mind off having alcohol. There will be loads of receipes on google.
I have started having hot water with a slice of lemon when i wake up too, really gets the system going. If that's too boring a spoon of honey helps.

I switched to Diet fizzy drinks a few years ago. Initially my kids wouldn't touch with a large barge pole - as they both started to pork up a bit got them to try and now they wont have anything else - After much 'research' I can strongly recommend Pepsi Max as the best in the field , if you can taste any noticeable difference from the full cream then your taste buds are v good. Perhaps not the healthiest but readily available and more often than not one of the large supermarkets has a good deal going.

                            Cheers mac

It's always lemonade for me. I put on a funny vinegar face and then I can look like I'm joining in.

I read at article once that said that agreen tea was so good for you that you should eat it, so I've gotten hooked on Arizona diet green tea. Sometimes you can get it with cranberry juice or blueberry. When I do that, I feel that I am killing two birds with one stone, and I've learned to really love it.
