You can get stevia drops at the whole foods store or organic grocery. The bigger the bottle, the better the price. They are best kept refrigerated.

Celestial Seasonings makes some great flavored green teas, too. I'm not much of a fan of plain old green tea, but they have some great flavors--a real treat!

A great snack is pistachio nuts, I get them in bulk at Costco. Since you have to crack them, you can't just wolf them down so easily. Any nuts in the shell are a good snack, for that matter!

      Mackeral,

As already suggested you may benefit from buying a juicer. With all the different recipes available, you can experiment to find something you like.

Also you could drink schloer...or presses by other brands.

I'll be doing that this week, plus my indian tea. (Brewed with ginger, cardamons and fennel seeds). It leaves a slight dry taste in my mouth, so I need to drink water afterwards anyway.

          Hi everyone,

I can vouch for Stevia. I use the powder form and don't forget it only takes a few microscopic grains to equal a teaspoon of sugar. I also use Splenda as it cooks better. My favorite "sweet" fix these days is cooked whole grain oatmeal in water, just a few minutes on the stove loaded with some splenda and cinnamon. Yum!

Anyway, about the diet soda theories... I heard that drinking artificial "sugar free" sodas tricks the brain into still craving sweets and sugars... which many folks substitute with carbs... hence the possible weight gain. I guess in an ideal world, we'd all love and appreciate the fine, sweet taste of pure water (fizzy or not) and choose to eat what is wholesome, nutritious and able to make our bodies and brains stronger.

We use a Britta filter on the kitchen counter and I try to pour myself a glass of water and drink it every time I go into the kitchen. Not only am I getting my daily water, but I'm also thinking twice before going into the kitchen (oh man! do I really want to drink another glass of water???:H ) (It's called my "avoidance" diet!!)

          Good luck all.
