    I have indeed used green beans like that. Mind you I always think warm potato salad has been invented for someone who can't keep their taters hot.

          Hello Army!!

          I've sent Mr. Stirly and his brother off for a drink down at the port so I can have a bit of me-time and have some time to read back over today's posts.

          Molly dear, I don't know if you can read this but want to say that I hope you have a successful rehab and learn new ways to face up to and deal with AL and your life without it. Sending you love and positive thoughts. You can do this, dear girl, and we'll all be right here waiting for you with lots of support and :h when you get out.

          Panno - so sorry to hear your granddaughter is not recovering as she should have been by now. Hope the doctors have gotten the proper treatment started by now and that she recovers ASAP.

          Jackie - glad to hear you're feeling better. And Mario-man, as well.

          Mrs. A - huge birthday wishes to you!! :bday2;

          Jan - good to see you. Keep us posted on what the doctors say.

          Zennie-butt, I've a couple of recipes for chicken as well, but they're not SW or anything close to it. More like packed with calories. But very, very yummy. One lighter version is my own concoction and it involves slices of skinless chicken breast or thigh wrapped around a stick of feta cheese with a slice of lean bacon wrapped around the chicken,secured with a couple of toothpicks. Saute in EVOO until lightly browned on all sides, add a can of mushrooms and simmer till the chicken is cooked, turning the pieces a couple of times to cook evenly. Thicken the sauce with a bit of cornflour or flour, add a few dashes of soya sauce for the saltiness and the colour, and Bob's yer Auntie.

          Just a quick check shows me that Reccie hasn't posted since Jan. 1st when he said he had PC problems. Anyone heard from him?

            Speaking of food...we are off to eat our "galette des rois" or king cake. A French tradition on the Epiphany and throughout the period upto Ash Wednesday.

                You're not going to believe this but I've just got an e-mail from Reccybear.


                Apologies for my absence lately. My PC gave up the ghost last Friday, so I acquired a new laptop from PC World yesterday. I?m still trying to get it set up properly. At the moment I can read MWO posts but am unable to post any of my own or respond to PMs for some reason. I tried to reply to a PM from Zens this morning and what I typed got lost, so she received a blank response! If you get a spare minute, would you mind apologising to the guys for me and say that I will be back posting as soon as I can manage it?

                              :hello: again to all of youz. It is Epiphany here today and therefore a holiday. Several family members and friends dropped by after we'd gone for a short drive this morning. Glad they've gone out for a bit.
