Perhaps tell her you were hurt and ask her why? If you tell her how hard it is for you to quit she may be a bit more understanding?

Yep, I am feeling a little bit pleased with myself (last time I went this long without a drink was 2002) but I'm not getting too carried away with it. I only have to look at what you and mario have accomplished to realise that what I have achieved so far is very small.Living now and not just existing since 9th July 2008

You know what... I'm starting to feel better about it just talking it through. The cranky old mare will realise somethings up when I don't call like usual today.Living now and not just existing since 9th July 2008

Hello zenners!Sorry about your sinus infection, and about the hard time your friend gave you. It's unfortunate that some people dislike it when a person fails to conform in some way, and in today's society not drinking is definitely seen as not conforming. But remember, it's your friend's problem, not yours.

Zenstyle;1244522 wrote: Well... I'm thinking it through properly now Starty and Reccy and I think I know what might have happened. I'm a bit off my game with the sinus thingy and some of the people that were there last night were getting on my nerves. So, although I wanted to get out for a bit, I wasn't as happy or talkative as usual. I think maybe she somehow equated that with it being because I wasn't joining in with the drinks. She'd had a couple and you know how our thinking can be a wee bit out of perspective sometimes then.
So I'm not going to worry about it too much now and I'll just let her come to me when she gets over her grump.
We all have our off days and I just took it to heart too much.
I'm glad I talked about it... I feel like such a tool sometimes! lol...

Have the aches gone? I'm sure Whizzy would tell you to start with walking and running. Like 3 mins walk 30 sec run, then the next day 3 mins and 1 min, then 2.5 mins and 1 min... etc... gradually building it up.
When I haven't been on the dreadmill for a while I need to start off with 2 mins + 2 mins or my achilles tendon gets really sore and I can't run for days after. (Its called "interval training" btw...)

Evening all,
Sorry for being late on patrol but had a luvverly surprise. The son and heir turned up.
Been meaning to post this since Chrimbo. All the puddings and cakes made by me own fair hands apart from the mince pies.
It could be worse, I could be filing.
