Hope you are doing well Techny. And well wishes to Mr Ragsy, it must be have scary.

Watched Rain in my Heart last night. It was very moving. And then I remembered we are living our own story in my family. I guess I was getting so got up in the daily treatment that my father is having and I was starting to forget what got him to that place.

Off to the gym this morning for 2 hours of torture.

Onya Ella for your gym commitment - I do have a pool here so might get a wee dip in....& they have a little gym so might pop onto the treadmill.
Bridge, I reckon I might have ADD when it comes to exercise - is that possible???

Hubs gone fishing this a.m from 5 - another indulgent morning of being here ad lib, yay.

Dinner last night was noice - had prawn agnoletti in lobster bisque but the pasta was a bit stiff (must have been the thought of me in a wet sarong standing in front of a fan), then lamb loin in a reduction of sorts. All ok, other dishes chosen by friends were good too.
Tonight is Japanese - yay!

A sweltering day here for us Westians.....keep cool everyone!!!

Techie, what did you have surgery on? I hope you heal up well and I am thinking of you!

Rags, poor Mr. Rags. I bet he feels fragile. Those kinds of moments can be very scary.
I am also LOVING all your photos. They are making me homesick and bringing back so many wonderful memories of all my skiing/snowboarding trips.
As far as what I would recommend for the couple who want to travel around over here I have been many beautiful places that I love! So I recommend Cairns, The Whitsunday Islands is a definite as it one of the most beautiful places. They can sail around them and go to Whitehaven Beach. If they keep driving down the coast they could go to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island. Again, I LOVE Fraser Island and they have a FANTASTIC Day tour there that shows you everything. Also, I love Melbourne so I think everyone should check it out at least once.
Last, I would say Hobart but it's a stretch. So I say if they are in Darwin, they should head on down to Mataranka and check out all the natural hot springs Mataranka hot spring - Google Search . If they are doing the caravan thing this is a great stop, with lots of local wildlife in the area like crocs, roos, birds, and lots of nice fellow travelers.
That is my 2 cents!

All day in hospital. Just got back to hotel and organised flights back home tomorrow as it is altitude intolerance, but had a final blood test just befor coming back . Doc left message. He has a blood clot.
He has to return to hospital NOW. They have to do a CT scan.
Fuck.

Ella - I take my hat off to you, gym and me are mutally exclusive words

G-man - I used to smoke over 30 a day, gave up when I was 23 cold turkey (yep I started early..like the AL lol). It was HARD, I remember it took 8 months for the cravings to go away and I still had dreams about smoking for another year after that!

Big clean out today (in 30 deg heat), bulk rubbish collection in a couple of weeks, then off to dinner with the family to one of my fav asian resturants. AF weekend is going fine, thoughts of AL are subsiding slowwwwlllyyyyy

Totally shattered after the gym....long time since I worked that hard. There is a girl at the gym on Saturdays that bothers me.......she is beyond skinny, limbs like delicate twigs but she lift heavy weights and now has bulging veins. I feel disturbed when I see her working out. I guess the thing about AL is that the damage is mostly internal so no-one knows.

Hope Mr Ragsy is feeling better soon. Thinking of you.

I know you'll be wanting to get back, but I think you'll need to take advice before you grab a flight home. If it is a clot he'll be needing some anti-coagulant therapy like Heparin/Warfarin.
