OKay, seeing as I am American and have been sucked into every holiday as it is so Commercialized, OF COURSE i celebrate every occasion! So takeout and some sweet words we're our celebration. Plus he bought me a yoga mat which is pretty intuitive of him because I have not even started yoga yet, just mentioned it is in my plan. He got some bonds singlets. We've now had our baskin robbins ice cream and are watching the bachelor. Ready to read a bit and hit the dream ward.

Have you actually photographed anyone else in town? Is it some kind of Steven King novel you've found yourselves in?!! Still, I guess health is the main thing. Despite you saying the food was mediocre, I now have a craving for tempura but I am uselessdeep frying anything - fish, chips, etc.
!
This is not the sort of town where you photograph the locals..... refer back to sign on the NPWS door. Two "sports " stores have their walls adorned with stuffed deer, alligators and toe of frog, and LOTS of heavy calibre rifles and shotguns along the walls, including fireams that are absolutly baned in OZ. And cammo clothing.
We have come across less than a dozen pedestrians in our2 days here. No-one walks. EVERYONE drives their V6 or V8. Quite funny when we X the street. We git staird et.
And the footpaths sorry, sidewalks have been added as an afterthought and have lightpoles and huge garbage bins to make walking hazardous.
And there are no taxis here. Honest. Or local buses. We are gong to have to hoof our luggage the kilometre to the bus stop. Not looking forward to that.

Prolly no surprise to anyone if I tell you I've never played.
I just said Happy Valentines Day to Mr Rags and he said "Is it?"
He's pure romance. But he is going out into the cold and braving Xing the road to get brekky at Schats for us.
It is 8:15 am Valentines Day here.

you take care of yourself.
Mr Rags under control but underlying problems to be sorted when back in OZ.
Holiday cancelled. But made him promise to take me to Queenstown in August to make up for it.
Would have been home 3 days ago except DELTA airline has a smart mouthed booking clerk who thinks she is also their major policy maker.
Wanted to charge us $2,198 EACH to fly home Sunday or Monday.
That's why we have been staying in Bishop.... she charged us $218 each to fly home to-day.
Am completely pissed off as
A: there must have been places available on the flights,
B: All you have to do to change flights is to hit a few keys on thecomputer.

Mr Rags has just returned from Schats.
Here is his roaming report
There were a lot of people in there, many who had parked their banjos outside.
He spoke to Evangelina, and through her heavy Dutch/North American accent, ascertained that Sheepherders bread is, for those of you who have read Terry Pratchet, very much like Dwarf Bread.
Evangelina said it was carried by sheepherders in the Sierra early last century, and is a round flattish very thick sourdough with an equally thick and solid crust. Evangelina said it lasted a long time to sustain the sheepherders in the mountain. Oh, and it is world famous.
Schats ham and scrambled egg croissant. $4.95 each. Very nice if a little too salty for moi.

Good Morning lovely lingerie.
Coping in the post epocalyptic Valentine's Day mop up are we?
Finally saw the bumper sticker I've been looking for yesterday.
Classic white and clear bearing the assertion:
'I don't give a rat's arse what your family looks like'
Perfect. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Morning undies,
Rags and Mr Rags, hope you have safe travels back to Oz.
Sorry to be a downer on such a fantastic thread, but I am feeling really crappy. The AF is going fine, what is not is my weight! I have put on 10kgs in the past 3 yrs from drinking, so I thought that stopping drinking and eating correctly would slowly help reverse the weight. But alas, nothing is working. I am not expecting miracles, but geez a couple of 100g downwards and not updwards would have been nice! I know a lot about nutrition etc and am eating the right things, right portions etc, and nothing. Did anyone experience this ?
Jo
