I know I'm missing a bunch of people and I'm sorry. I'm getting ready for bed already. Called my parents to tell them that I might not be going up there. They both just insisted & insisted that I come anyway. I'm hoping that I make a remarkable recovery tonight so that I don't have to worry about it. Such a hard decision.

Oh you poor folk with all your colds. I am still in summer so no colds here. You have inspired me to get a flu jab when the seasons change. You remind me that I have had a wonderful hangover free 3.5 weeks. Sometimes hangovers feel like the flu to me. I can't get vaccinated from a hangover but it sure is nice to remind myself I do have a choice in the matter.

morning all. I am in such a lazy mood but phone won't shut up. My demanding little hounds have been fed, but tenants and relatives aren't so easy to please.
Welcome Lulu, and well done. Since we're heading towards spring does that mean you're headed towards fall?
Nora, carry a bottle of antiseptic hand lotion everywhere you go. Avoid physical contact (I know that's hard!) and wash everything you touch separately and unless you're highly contagious you should be fine. I'm assuming they've had their flu and pneumonia shots? Everything they come in contact daily could be contagious from someone anyway. And they really seem to need you to come, imagine they've been looking forward to it a lot.

G, I saw that clip about the dog, and the woman broke every rule in dealing with a strange dog; down on eye level staring into his eyes, pulling his head toward her, trying to kiss all over his face. I tell people to NEVER stare at TMB or approach her, let her approach them and give her her space. Shame that she and the dog will suffer because of a mistake. And the handler should have warned her not to do what she was doing. There ARE bad dogs, just like bad people, and the onus his incumbent on the owner or handler.
MB, I had a long talk with the woman going to the Westminster show in New York, and she'll be busy for the next week. Incredibly, though she travels the country and in vastly different circles than me, we knew some of the same people and places. From what she told me, the dogs she raises of shows must meet all the best elements of the breed, from looks, size, health, to temperment. A healthy, well-behaved companion is all I'm looking for. And G, I know how you feel about Rotties, and many people do, but I've only had wonderful experiences with mine and I feel it's a combination of a wonderful breed and the love I give them. Mine have given me an independence I couldn't have had for a long time. Without them, when I was trapped either in bed or a wheel chair for six months I would have been frightened being out here alone much of the time. I just wish owners were screened better. This woman also has a lifetime contract with all her pups; if for any reason a person doesn't want to keep a dog at any time in their lifetime, it has to be returned to her or she has to approve a new home. And she enforces it by checking up on each animal.
Bird, Fen, how goes the flea infestation? We battle them year round, but late summers are awful. Plus TMB and Satan are allergic to flea bites.
May run up to the cabin tomorrow till Sunday. The Crypt Keepers are at the lake, so Hubs will only have to spend 2 nights alone, and he's working every day.
Fen, your cousin says hi, if you have a nice place with Bird can he come too. Says Miss Ruby is MEAN!
