Morning, every-buddy. Tay has called with her 'come get me', Hubs called between meetings (he HATES meetings, and now they've doubled), and giving annual evaluations, aunt called about cousin coming to ATL on business later this month so family will have get-together, dogs trimmed, fed, eyes cared for, and it's just 11.
I was shocked and saddened when I read the post about an old friend here, Draggy, passing away. She was in England, I think, and we used to private chat a lot at night, she didn't sleep either. Her daughter had some serious medical problems and I was thinking about her the other day and wondering how she was. The saddest thing about increasing your circle of friends is the possibility of loss grows exponientially.
Bird, I told Tay what you said about the chicken, or others, so she'll pass that on. I'm sure JC's boss would let us have a few chickens if we ask. He's an old friend of mine too. We'll cross our fingers for you to be able to visit when Fen does so she'll have an outdoor playmate. :H I love sleeping with my French doors in the cabin bedroom open. Never scared, for some reason. I do need to get screens on the doors though so the 'candle flies' (moths) don't carry me away.
Sun, I've always been upset about inhumane treatment of any animal, but you've iinfluenced me even more so. Hubs used to hunt, but he's almost as bad as I am now. I can't understand how people (especially oriental, it seems) can treasure some things to eat that are treated cruelly.
ATL, I'm so sorry about the sleep problems. As I said, you and I both know how devastating head injuries can be long term, even for lucky people like you who regain some normalcy. And yes, sleep problems are proven to cause weight gain, among other things. Our bodies need that deep sleep to restore and reset it's clock. I certainly hope yours gets better soon, especially with an active child. I don't know how you do it, and all the other things you do. Like we told you, you owe no one apologies or explanations.
Nora, getting back into the swing? Bet your family was as sad to see you go as you were to leave.
Dentist appointment tomorrow, too. ICK! Have to tell him I just CANNOT put $35,000 in my mouth! Maybe 20 years ago it would be a good investment, but not since all the rest of my body is falling apart. Still have to get hearing aids, have sinus and corrective nose surgery, and other maintenance. Go ahead Sun, say it! :H
I'm making mushroom and other veggie lasagna tonight. Won't tell Hubs it's meatless till he finishes it. He loved the greek casserole too, and I served with with roast asparagus.

One of the good parts of Hub's new job is he will have to travel more to conferences and training sessions. We've been all over the SouthEast, but some of these will be further away. Mish, his brother had this job at another plant before he retired and he went to Australia a couple of times. That would be cool. But I REFUSE to let him go to the middle east. Not after his friend was kidnapped there, especially.

Home from work and off to the gym...will check the drum threads mb...everyone has been so supportive..I dont think we were meant to eat meat. We have a veggie digestive system and we dont have claws or fangs. When I see a cow I dont get the urge to chase it and chow down, but if I see fruit on a tree it smells good and I dont have to cook it. hahaha, just my thoughts about it. I do eat my share of meat but not as much as I used to. gonna check drum thread and to gym...later

Hi everyone - good dental check-up and now have Friends dog here - which isn't working. Daisy won't stop barking and Trix has attacked Ben - and he isn't even doing anything. He has gone and hidden behind the TV which is where he goes if he is scared. She has gone for him twice so this is NOT going to work. He usually lies beside me when I am on the computer and he came in here to do so and she went for him. Poor Ben - anyway, this is his home, so I am taking her back and will not be having her in March. He won't come out from behind the TV.

Bird - so happy you are getting lots of votes - it was really neat and I am going to watch it again to see the kitty!!

Just found out that my uncle has died. So when I go to UK in March I have a change of plan and will go and stay with my aunt now for a few days. He had cancer and was terminal but he suddenly went - most unexpected.

Ruby - I am glad that I could have any influence at all on you re eating meat - although to be honest it is something I have never tried to force on folk - I firmly believe that it is up to the individual. Their choice. Same as being veggie is mine which is what I usually tell anyone that tries to argue it with me - I refuse to be drawn into an arguement on it - just say it is my choice.

Jan - I am starting on more drawers to tidy today - love having tidy drawers! Oh - I could have a field day with that statement !!!! But will button it !!! Anyway - hope everyone is having a great day - I am !!
