    Army Thread 3rd February

I have done 2 zumba classes before its a mix of latin and hip hop style moves and the music is great. It is a bit tough at first but fun with usual warm and cool down. Was all ladies at the classes i went to. I did salsa Latino dance classes for few years so that helped but my fitness level for fast paced dancing is gud now but you build up like any exercise. Are you thinkin of trying a class pc? You can google it or utube have lots of videos. Each instructoe has their own style. Goin to get some brekkie be back later.

        Good morning people,

Adam has his entrance exam for secondary school and is not well unfortunately. I cannot believe where the time is gone, yesterday, he was only a little fella running around and watching cartoons

I have to say that I am finding Jan's posts very upsetting and disturbing, I hope something positive is done soon because the situation is only getting worse and not better and I fear for both of them.

:l For Adam. Could he not sit the exam another day if he is ill? And I know what you mean about them growing up so fast! My daughter is taller then I am now. Seems like yesterday that I was carrying her around on my hip! Can't do that now.:H
I am worried about Jan too. Jan-I hope you check in hon. Maybe a sort of boarding school could be a good idea. I don't know what they are like in the Canaries but many British families do it (I think?) and maybe could be a positive solution for a bit. Hopefully a social worker could give you some ideas because I really don't know what to say. I just erased half my post because I'm really not in the position to give any advice since I don't know the system where you are. :l

And good for you ladies with going to see Jim and doing Zumba!
I think I'm more of a running/walking person myself. I don't feel ready for group classes yet. I'm not a very social person I guess.
Reccie-how's your walking going? I want one of those burka snood hood thingies you posted. But you are right-I should not walk into a bank wearing one.:H Do you think they come in other colours besides black (kind of too terroristy looking) maybe pink could be nice.

Good morning Tippers, Pinky, Expatty, Fireyfoxy, Whizzy, KTabbers, Oners and all those yet to drop by.

Probably too late to give advice on Adam's sitting his exam but was just thinking if it can't be postponed wondered if it can be flagged to say that he was ill while taking it. We arranged something like that when the daughter had to take one of her A level modules the Monday after her Grandma died.

              Absolutely fecking frezzing here.

                Firefox,

I remember it being a nightmare giving my cats tablets and got the vet to show me. It's not easy at all.

                Anyhoo found this.

It is his exam to see his ability so they can place him in the appropriate class when he starts secondary school.....hopefully he will do ok, I am not too worried tho as they can move him if he is put into the wrong class.

Yes Jan, I hope you check in and have made a decision one and for all, it seems quite trite to be talking about the weather on here when this is going on...don't know why people are either afraid or don't want to address it and go on like nothing is wrong.....this is very serious and not something to be swept under the carpet. There is a very vulnerable little boy and a distraught mother with her own addictions to deal with. A very difficult and dangerous situation. Something needs to be done.

I'm very aware of what's going on and I am neither afraid nor am I brushing under the carpet. My concerns lie with a little boy who doesn't know whether he's coming or going.

What I am afraid of is that with all the encouragement by PMs, phone calls and open advice on the forum it just falls on deaf ears.

I have literally run out of words.

Er Jackie, what makes you think I am talking about you?

I am talking about the posts made last night and this morning, not a mention of it. I am sure other people are reading this thread and wonder why it is not acknowledged or even mentioned. It may be falling on deaf ears but what should not happen is that it is ignored. Jan obviously posts for a reason here, whether or not she takes on board what is said, maybe some of it will go in and she might NOT give the child a sleeping tablet or she might think twice.
Zen was totally right in what she said last week in my opinion.

So I will keep harping on about it on the thread, will keep acknowleging the posts and still give advice whether it is taken on board or not.

There is not a lot we can do except talk about it, acknowledge it, give her advice and not let her posts fall on deaf ears even tho most of the time our posts do. This situation is too dangerous to become impassive or give up.
So Jan if you are reading, ring someone this morning and get Ollie in somewhere safe for both your sakes. We are listening and we do care.
