Time to come out of the closet ...

Another one from me... this is seriously embarassing.. I love reality TV... no no no don't get me wrong... I started 35 years ago... love logies (oscars - BFTA) - arias (grammys) etc... love it love it... I don't like Big Brother shows.. but love watching people be people... sick I know..

Also no-one has RSVP'd to my BBQ party... most upset.... looks like it's me & the dog again...

I was putting some "shrimp" on the BBQ, followed by a pavlova and lamingtons... tawn, fan, lucky, melonhead.... anyone... it's getting lonely here..
Failure is not the falling down... it's the staying down

Time to come out of the closet ...

        Hey all,

Thanks Tawny for the starting this thread... I've been stumped all morning trying to figure out "Why don't I have something that I"m passionate about (at the moment)" Yeah sure... there's my family, my business, my home but my own sweet indulgence. Me thinks I'm gonna have to go find one (as soon as I get a few minutes free time...)

There is a great Southern Rock band called BOTTLE ROCKETS... they are actually one of my favorites... great lyrics, great mix of rock, blues, and country. If you get a chance...

Irish, I'm a Eastenders die-hard... have been for 9 years. Shhhhh.

I love watching the old PBS (public broadcast system) Bob Ross painting shows. I cannot paint and have never been interested in paints or art but this painter(who's now dead) had a very soothing voice and you could watch him start and finish a painting in 25 minutes. The art he produced was mediocre at best but watching him dab with his brushes at the canvass and calmly talk about what he was doing was very soothing.....almost like taking a tranquilizer.
His shows have not been on for a long time but when they were shown at 2am I would secretly tape them then watch them alone.

I do record EVERY episode of the true hollywood story but I also watch everything else on E entertainment television. Dr 90210, Love Ride,The girls next door, house of Carters, E news, and my new favorite high maintenence 90210!

                I'm and E Entertainment junkie:blush:

What's wrong with sudaku? It gets my mind working. And soap opera's (All My Children fan here - beware if you screw up my tape!). If my hubby were on here, that would be his secret confession. Getting a little weird lately, but I am loyal and don't give up easily.

My secret confession - I find myself planning my week around Deal or No Deal. Also, reruns of Law and Order (I can probably recite half of them.

                    Shhhh.....I read Cooking magazines.
Never cook the actual meals but I do love flipping thru the pages & cutting the recipes out in hopes that one day I'd be motivated to make them..LOL.

Wattle & Imagine...hubby & I are Reality TV junkies (Girls Next Door, I Love NY, Big Brother, Survivor, Amazing Race, Top Chef, Survivor Man, Amercian Chopper) you name it, I've seen it. Hmmm. Maybe I have this voyeur thing?

Oh, come summer time-outdoor statuary-especially angels. You'd think you stepped into a sanctuary! This Spring I'm promising myself to not take ALL of them out of storage & throw out the old ones (yeah so I can get new ones...ha ha). :lilangel:

Time to come out of the closet ...

Catalogues, the sunday newspaper ads, and SALES!!
I'm obsessed with what the "regular price" is and how much of a discount I got and well, if I have a coupon then I save even more...
Allie and I were just talking about the Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works sales. Bargain hunter's paradise! I got an Angel's bra that was regularly $45 for $19.99 and a Body by Victoria pair of undies that were regularly $14 for $5.99. I'm going to get on the website and order more. I have more bras than any woman needs because I can't NOT buy them when they are on sale. I think I have at least 15 bras. 14 after Fan stole my red one. Underwear? Don't even get me started. Only Victoria's Secret though. They are consistent with sizing so I always know when I order something it will fit.
I also have a tendency to make lists of what's on sale at different grocery stores and get my kicks out of seeing how much "YOU SAVED" at the bottom of the receipt. Never mind that if I go, I always buy way more stuff than I need, so I'm actually not "saving" a dang thing!
Ok, time to shop. I'm all fired up now!

Time to come out of the closet ...

                                Morning all,
Wattle, do count me in, I love BBQ's as long as I don't have to work them.

Vinoph.., I too watch Bob Ross. When I told some of my friends that, they just broke up, screeching with laughter and almost rolling on the floor. Pah..I was so insulted. He does have a soothing voice and loves his animals and appreciates nature. So there - I said it.

The other thing that I am passionate about is fabric oh lovely fabric. I have armoirs full of the stuff and I cannot go into a store without coming out with at least a meter of something sooooooooooft and "on sale", that will be made into this ultimate outfit, that everyone will envy me for. Hubby says, if he sees me going into one, I will be executed on the spot.

But my real secret desire, that I only have shared with my daughter is:
I want to have a pea shooter again. When I was freshly married at 19 my husbands family lived in a second story appartment with enormous windows. Hubby and I would hide behind the sheers and shoot peas through a Chemists glass rod at unsuspecting passers-by. Man, that was fun and I have to have another one before I get too frail to blow that hard. So now you know. Me thinks, I should delete this before it is too late.
