Folks
I will be looking for inspiration on how to cope with social occasions next week. Typically I have a 21st birthday party on Friday next & my brother's birthday on Saturday.
I will have G&T on Friday as I get bored drinking it before I get drunk
On Saturday was thinkg as we have to travel I will volunteer to be DD . I can see the eyebrows raised already - this has NEVER happened

Thats feckin MAD money Mollers, shop around first!
Satz, I would LOVE a personal trainer, I am looking out at the rain and thinking of excuses not to do my 3 mile walk this evening.
Zenners, poor little boy, your friend must be really worried, keep us posted.
Satz, would you try to do without the G&T and leave early?"It's not your job to like me, it's mine!"

Afternoon army!
Thanks for starting a thread for me, jackie :l and thanks to everyone who posted kind words about my 30 days, either there or here. Six months ago I simply wouldn't have believed 30 days was possible.
On to more practical matters, and the driver's door lock on my old car has packed up and I can't lock it. To add insult to injury, I parked my unlocked car in a busy street while I went to see my alcohol worker this afternoon, and nobody even bothered to nick it. It's not that decrepit! Probably call in at the garage tomorrow to see about getting the lock fixed.
Glad things are ok between you and jilly, molly.
Sitting here eating a plate of boiled sweetheart cabbage. It's only about six and a half calories, which at least partly makes up for the fact that it's somewhat less than inspiring. I'd rather try a bowl of your tomato, bacon and lentil soup, JC.
Well done on visiting your trainer, satz. Six months is a serious commitment!
No room for a tumble dryer or dishwasher or microwave in the reccie kitchen. No money for them either! :upset:
Hope your friend's boy gets better soon, zenny.

I was just about to head out for a run but the ground is too slippery.
It is going to be another difficult evening as his lordship thinks I may like just one drink as I am so in control GRR.
I could not be an alcoholic as I got to this age.
I agree Satz give the G&T a miss if you can.
Sorry about the little one Zen.
Just going out in the car to do a bit of taxi driving Back later

Yoooooooooooo hoooooooooooo Reccybear,
It was my absolute pleasure to start that thread for you. The turnaround for you is remarkable. I'll tell you no lies but I had tears in my eyes I was so happy for you.
Right enough of the mushy stuff, back to dishwashers and tumbler dryers. It could be worse, I could be filing.
